The dealer ordered the housing today. I wanted to put this up top so everyone could see it. It should be put in by the end of next week. See my posts on the pinion seal leaking and the runaround I got from the local dealer in Kingsland if you are interested. Once the housing is installed, I will finish up my complaint letter to Bennett Dodge. Why they could not have come to this conclusion is beyond me. Instead they deny warranty because of an aftermarket differential cover. Go figure. The nice thing about this new housing is everything has to come out. I already talked to the dealer about making sure to check for worn gears, bearings and seals, etc. etc.

axle replaced

Hey John! Sorry to here of your troubles. I actually just had my axle replaced because of damage from a drive shaft of another truck!! Anyway I had the dealer ask me if I wanted the "carrier bearings" replaced because they showed signs of wear..... of course I had them replaced. I did inspect the old bearings for my self which seemed to show alot of wear for only having 43k miles on the axle. The bearings actually cost me $250. Make sure your dealer inspects the bearings closely... . this is the perfect time to get them replaced. Hope things work out ok.

differential service

Hey WCROVO! Yes I did service my axle and I am also using AMZOIL. In fact I also have a Mag-Hytec cover on the axle to improve cooling as well as giving me more capacity for more lube. Who knows??? I actually noticed that someone just posted some issues they were also experiencing with their carrier bearings.

John,

I hope the dealer knows how to set up gears... . I don't know if I would trust them. Too bad, they couldn't get you the complete rear axle with all of the gears already installed.

I hope they can figure it out.

I'm comfortable with the dealer. And I have/will stress that I want all of the internal parts, especially the bearings, looked at closely. There is not much else I can do, except trust and see.

John, Glad you are getting somewhere with this. I know it's been a PITA to you. At least they are making the attempt now to get to the root of the problem. Hopefully, it's not a bearing problem transferring to the new differential housing. Good luck.
