right now loading and unloading the back seat, people and cargo is easy with the suicide doors. It will be a rpita with a door jamb and door, no more putting yhe front seat back folded forward.

For any who read the head honcho's speech - notice his reference to "cutting costs" of production, and dedicating 1100 engineers to that task... Be AFRAID, VERY afraid! That translates into finding EVERY WAY POSSIBLE to pare down materials used to build, strengthen and make our trucks last as long as we expect them to. Realize that current Diamler leadership at Chrysler is FAR MORE dedicated to insuring the survival of their company than they are the longer term life and durability of the trucks they will be offering for sale!

Buyer beware...

well like i have told many before... . if i dont like the new truck... my 99 will last untill the next time they change the trucks... so i will just skip a gen if need be

GARY - That cost cutting happens everyday anyhow... Sounds like D-C is just throwing the resources necessary to expedite the process. Cost over rules everything anymore.....

DENNY... ... ... ... ...

They've already shown the 2002 RAM 1500 with the four-door Quad Cab, and I expect the same will hold true of the 2500 and 3500, so there WILL be four full doors. The ultimate question will be just how much bigger is it back there than now? Given the talk of a 160" wheelbase, compared to ours being 155" now (on longboxes), that says to me that we'll gain 5" in that area of the cab, assuming the front doesn't grow anymore.

That could be just about right, since at the very least it should mean that you don't have to move the front seats forward to allow for some legroom for rear seat passengers.

Still, I kinda like the current quad cab without the B-pillar being in the way. BUT, I can sure see why many would want four real doors.

Me, I won't trade up until at least 04-05, to give 'em time to work the bugs out, and to give the aftermarket time to get power mods ready. :)
