Ordered my Comp today!!!

I usw and swear by Shaffers oil. I sample it regularly and they will warranty my engine for as long as I won it against lubrication related failure of any kind,so long as I follow there recommended drain interval, which in my truck is over 7000 miles with with bully dog 7's in there for 2000 miles, soot levels are normal after all the smoking ive done with both 3's and 7's. The last sample i sent had 3500 hard miles, with tons of black smoke, drag racing, and dynoing, the sample said double the interval ,everything came back perfect, even soot was low. I use the moly supreme 15w40 in the motor, and i use their lubes throught. Ive used Amsoil too,and i have a coomerrcial fleet account with them,I just find Shaeffers to be much cheaper,my dealer comes right to me,at my shop, thats good for me. http://www.schaefferoil.com/

Disclaimer first. I am a "dealer". I sell to no one. I use it in my own fleet of 3 autos mower etc. . Hate Amsoil marketing (they should pay me to be a dealer). Love the oil. Pick the phone up and at my door step in 3 days. I use synthetics because it is the best oil around (my opinion) and I only want to change oil once a year. My oil at 9000 miles is equal to around 3000 miles using "dino" DELLO. I use CAT for oil analiyis. Can get an estamated 15,000 miles between oil chages if needed. Into driveing not dumping oil every 5000 miles. Oh, I do change oil filter every 3000 miles.

??oil??

klinger:

the only places that i found that had the blends or full synthetics, was the distributors, warehouse's, and sold by the case.

talked with the parts guy at cummins intermountain(SLC) and he verified to me that valvoline was discontinuing the blend (2000) and going to the full synthetic, along with the regular Dino.

he said that when they changed oil in there shop they were putting the regular Dino in, in most cases. just not enough use in the shop to justify there stocking it.

i was running the PB2000 but have since gone back to Delo 400, easy to get and cheaper.

just my penny's worth.

Just thought I'd post a follow up here.

As I posted earlier in this thread, I called Amsoil, and was told about the problem they had encountered, and that it was fixed, and I did in fact receive my shipment within 48 hours of that phone call.

Yesterday I got a letter from them, don't remember the man's name, but he said that Amsoil had been made aware of this particular thread on the TDR, he had read it, and was following up with those who had experienced problems with late shipments. He said they are extremely concerned with customer service, and are going to do everything possible to make us all happy customers.

This is the first time I personally have ever had any sort of follow up on a problem with any product I have ever purchased, and I was pleased to see they are going to such an extent to let us all know they are concerned with our satisfaction.

Thanks Amsoil!

Tom

Alas..........

I wonder if this had anything to do with... ... ... well let me start by saying at the beginning of last week I printed this all out and mailed it to Amsoil Complaint Department... ..... I have personally not heard anything back from them but maybe it did some good to all.

I still have not been contacted by Amsoil about this issue. Am I supposed to keep the case of oil as a gift or send it back?

Klenger

The law reaqds that if you receive something in the mail that you did not order, then it is yours. However, within a certain time they can send you the postage and you do have to send it back. Otherwise, I would wait about 6 months, change my oil and keep going.

THAT MUST BE MY OIL!! They billed me for a case of 5W30 HDD that I did not order and have not received:mad:

Update: I received a very nice letter from Dean Alexander, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Amsoil today. He appologized for the problem and said that I should expect a complementary case of 15W40 oil shipped under a separate cover, and a $20 credit to my credit card providing me with a free one year Preferred Customer Dealership.

My thanks to Amsoil and to Mr Alexander for their generous contribution to the "keep my truck running for a long time" foundation. I appreciate the personal letter at least as much as the complementary case of oil.

Your right George............

I do drink this stuff..... About 8oz. over a bowl of cherrios aswell... Nothing like a good dose of lube in the moring to ease those achiing bones... . I change my oil every 10,000 miles (every month and a half) aswell as my transmission fluid... ... ... ... It just pisses me off that a company with such good lubricants doesn't give a ***** about their customers.....

Jason

P. S.

I e-mailed Chris yesterday... . I just got back from New Orleans this morning... . had an e-mail from him. I will give him a call this week sometime. He said your a nice guy George... . !!!!!:D

JUst buy this stuff and keep it in for awhile- you are not going to see a Cummins logo on a bottle of Amsoil- that is what sold me. It is probably no better but if something goes wrong I will just show Cummins and DC the invoices and the logo on the bottle.

I' m at 14000 miles and have changed every 3500 -- rotella and Fleetguard stratapore. Have'nt considered syn oil because of breaking in. If keeping the oil clean is the secret to long life, then I should be covered.

I'll be 80 years old when the truck hits 300000
