Dually tire rotation question

Saw the new Ford body style on some dually's today, don't like the look on the smaller trucks, but really like the look on the dually's!

Hated that big chrome grill at first, but like it now too...

Anyway, still love my truck!! even though I'm getting ready to have to get the u-joints done, and scared to check my ball-joints.

BTW, how will the ball-joints alert me if they're on the way out?

thanks... Michael

Saw an 05 with the front coil-overs this weekend at a rodeo. The springs look light because they are small in diameter but the control arms are massive.

Check the ball joints by jacking the front tire up a couple inches off the ground and lifting the tire with a prybar. It should be tight.

New fords are crap... .

Hmmm, why?

Number one in sales, high customer loyalty, strong CSI's. . I drove a 05 recently, nice vehicle. Strong motor, good trans, nice interior. Tell me specific's why you feel they are crap? Just because you don't own one does that make it crap? Dodge is number 3 in sales. If Ford was crap, don't you think Dodge would be #1?

The only reason Ford is number one in sales is because of Fleet sales. . No one can touch their prices to big companys. Privet sector sales, the number one leader would probably be Chevy.

Dodge owns the first half of this year. .

That and considering the F-150 was the #1 selling vehicle in the world last year.

he just needs to remind us once in a while that he has no clue what he is talking about

I don't? Okay, if you say so. But comments like "fords are crap" show less knowledge and maturity than any other comments I've seen in this exchange. And the Fleet excuse doesn't hold water. Those numbers are reported differently and are not grouped together to base overall number of sales (commercial sales vs. dealership sales).

The Ford, Chevy and Dodge manufacturers all make nice products, and have their good and bad points. Deal with it and get over it.

How many Fords have gone 1 million miles without a engine rebuild?? Life expectency on the Ford 6. 0 has been lowered to 150,000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to listen to the ads more closely... They say "F series Pickups are the number one selling) Not just the 150's we are talking F150-650's and higher.

Advertising at its best. . fooling even the smartest consumer.

All I can say is REMEMBER THE PINTO OF THE 70's. I would definately not trust a company that totaled up the repair bill so that the pinto would not explode and decided it was to much money. They decided it was cheaper to pay the funeral and medical costs. Kind of sounds like the latest police cruiser episode huh.

I could care less if my dodge cummins can go 1 million miles. Heck, I usually sell my trucks the minute I see wear on the seat or carpets. If I get a door ding, I trade the thing in on the spot.

I can't imagine how grungy the truck would be after that many miles. Door hinges, seats, carpet, plastic fascia's all would be shot to say the least. Who says 150k max for the fords? Some of you seem to get so emotional about rumored fairy tails that you actually start believing them. All three have had injector problems with the new common rail systems.

Pintos? Yep, they were somewhat unsafe, in certain conditions, I had 2 and they were great cars back then. Vegas and the aluminum motors? Now that was a mistake. How about the chevy trucks in the 80's with the side mounted gas tanks that blew upon impact. Or how about the Dodge Chargers in the early 80's? I supposed you failed to remember the fuel tank problems with those cars? How about the early Cummins and the head gasket problems? I remember that pretty well.

Or how about Chrysler going BK in the early 80's and it wasn't until the feds bailed them out? How does Chrysler reward the US? They move many operations to Canada and Mexico for cheaper labor. That's nice. Take from the taxpayers and then move across country lines for cheap labor.

Point being, I've got a chevy and dodge, both new, both nice. Had a ford for a while, it was nice too. Each had their own set of problems, each had good points. Comments like "fords are crap" is a very stupid statement that is unsupported, biased and emotional.

In an industry that has seen the rise of the sport utilities and minivans at the expense of the traditional passenger car, the full-size pickup continues as the nation's most popular vehicle. In 2003, the Ford F-Series extended its reign as the top-selling vehicle in the U. S. —for the 22nd consecutive year. Moreover, the Chevrolet Silverado and the Dodge Ram (redesigned in 2002) were No. 2 and 3, respectively, in 2003 sales

Pardon me... wow!

The reason I put that blurb in was NOT from a ferd commercial... I remember reading somewhere that the f-150 was the top selling SINGLE vehicle in the world last year. Maybe I was wrong... . but I do remember it.

Interesting, Ford posts 22 years as the leader. So what ever 'crap' they are selling, the consumers are buying, over and over. Good info sledneck. If Ford gets the Powerstroke motor problems worked out, combined with the improved looks this year, they may post some big numbers for 05.

saw a few recently at the truck pull locally. they do stand out, very nice interior and exterior. heck, if it broke down, you still could park it on the front lawn and stare at it from the living room ;)

May be so but I've owned one and can honestly state I will never own another. Each to their own.
