Traded my 99 PSD for a Dodge. Im now on my 4th DC vehicle. 2 3500 CTD, a Durango, and now a 1500 CC hemi. Been very happy.

Buddy traded his 01 PSD for an 03 CTD

Hot shot co-worker traded his 02 PSD for a 04. 5 CTD

Best friend over in Mathis just bought a 04. 5 CTD over a PSD

Just a trend? I think not.

If your gonna keep your truck for just a few years and tow the family boat to the lake - A PSD is the way to go if you dont mind spending a few thousand $ more.

If your gonna work your truck for a couple 100,000 miles - Better get a Dodge.

Pardon me... wow!

The reason I put that blurb in was NOT from a ferd commercial... I remember reading somewhere that the f-150 was the top selling SINGLE vehicle in the world last year. Maybe I was wrong... . but I do remember it.

Sorry, I didnt mean to be a dick. . It wasnt ment to be taken that way

By the way. . I do like the way the new F150's look. .

Here is the list for 2003 accoring to Forbes

1. Ford F-series 115,847

2. Chevrolet Silverado 80,260

3. Dodge Ram 58,543

4. Ford Ranger 36,352

5. GMC Sierra 22,581

6. Toyota Tacoma 20,561

7. Chevrolet S-10 19,781

8. Dodge Dakota 16,360

9. Toyota Tundra 12,448

10. Chevrolet Avalanche 11,837

Take away Fords fleet sales and I bet Chevy would win. . The only state in the US that uses Dodge trucks as State vehicles is Delaware (big employer in Delaware next to Dupont)

hey guys I will be buying a psd to hual my CTD when the time comes ive drove a little bit of everything and im impressed with by the PSD empty and towing and are very nice inside and out and the transmissions backing them are amazing very few problems, but I will still use a cummins for all out performance I wont have a problem hauling my CTD with a PSD.

Traded my '97 Dodge for a 2000 F-350. The Ford was better suited for a larger family (crew cab). Transmission (4 speed auto) never was very good (gave up at 30,000 miles). PSD didn't have the low end grunt that my cummins had, but...

Now I drive a Dodge (again).

As Dr. Phil would say: "What was I thinking??!!??" :-laf

sorry... ... that came out wrong..... i was talking about MR. Dos Equis... . and attempting to answer your question "why"

I don't? Okay, if you say so. But comments like "fords are crap" show less knowledge and maturity than any other comments I've seen in this exchange. And the Fleet excuse doesn't hold water. Those numbers are reported differently and are not grouped together to base overall number of sales (commercial sales vs. dealership sales).

The Ford, Chevy and Dodge manufacturers all make nice products, and have their good and bad points. Deal with it and get over it.

If you say so. I went out and bought a prodigy and installed it myself. Probably saved $500. I have ridden in a 2004 Ford. Not as nice of ride and the turbo whistle is obnoxiously loud IMO. How about the Ford Escort and Taurus? Weren't they the best selling cars? How many of them are still on the road?

Read posts on THEDIESELSTOP. COM I read several G. M. sites DC. sites and Ford. The FORDS are the most towed, blown up,burbing, leaking, shuddering remove ENTIRE BODY to repair engines and Egr tubes trucks on the WEB. 05s may(hopefully)get better but any one with a little looking would NOT buy a used 6. 0 or a new one for that matter. NO LOW END POWER,thats why the Torqueshift trans splits 1st and 2nd gear. The 6 speeds its more noticable. There FAST once they get to HIGH rpm but no grunt at all. Lots of complaints about this issue. If not a Dodge then a LLY Duramax. Thats all folkes. Even the Duramax has a fair amout of TRANS issues. It seems the 48re is doing a pretty good job and the Cummins rep is already known.

Hmmm, why?

Number one in sales, high customer loyalty, strong CSI's. . I drove a 05 recently, nice vehicle. Strong motor, good trans, nice interior. Tell me specific's why you feel they are crap? Just because you don't own one does that make it crap? Dodge is number 3 in sales. If Ford was crap, don't you think Dodge would be #1?

I own an '02 PSD 7. 3l. I love it as long as it's the wife's truck :-laf :-laf

It's comfy, big, gets 15mpg no matter where you drive it, won't turn worth a Sh!#.

The only difference between it and my CTD(options and such, 00 2500 AT CTD loaded) is mine's a QC hers is a Crew Cab. Mine gets 18-22mpg stops and turns betterm, much better. I can park my '01 3500 QC CTD 4x4 easier than her ford.

The newer fords sound like crap, have a horrible turbo whine... I'm good friends with the local for dealer. Our kids play ball with each other. He doesn't even try to compare a CTD to a PS because he's lost that arguement on several occasions.

The alternator on the PSD went out at 50K and come to find out this is REALLY common at the ford house and the FOMOCO alternator is $300. I bought it for $150 at the local parts house.

Like it was said earlier, if you want to work a truck for 100-900kmi buy a dodge. If you want a loud grocery getter get a ford.
