Well, the decision is made. The truck is for sale. After changing jobs and not using the truck for work anymore I have decided to get rid of my baby. This $4. 00 per gallon stuff is B. S. and it's too much for me to justify and absorb as a personal use truck for me. How many others out there are getting fed up with it to the point of selling? Anyway as much as I hate to do it I will be downgrading to something that I can get better mileage with and have less payments:{:{.

Just wanted to share my woes with my fellow TDR clan members.

I understand your feelings if you don't have a need for what that truck can do. I get ****** when I go to the pump and put 100+ dollars in my rig. That being said I will keep my 05 till the wheels fall off. I'm close to paid off,It gets 19mpg on the road which is about the same as most 1/2 ton trucks. Nothing out there will pull a trailer like these rigs and still give me 13-14 mpg. Plus at 6'5' and 340lbs I ain't getting into a sub compact and enjoy the ride. need a big shoehorn and grease to make that happen. Good luck with the sale-price it right and it will go.

I got smart long ago and bought a Beetle TDI that gets 50 MPG as my daily driver a week after I bought my truck. My truck is just a Sunday truck now and is covered in my driveway 6 days a week.

Hey man before you sell the truck remember that diesel goes down and gas comes up as the weather warms up. At least that is the way it has been working...

Also, I don't know about all you guys, but for me there some value to the smile that I get on my face every time I start the truck and hear that inline 6 rumble. I have even gotten to the point where I worry something is wrong if my belt doesn't chirp at shutdown.

DMyran, I feel your pain. Over $100 to fill up burns me up. But then I look over at the poor sap filling his minivan, Taurus, or gasser and I don't mind so much.

I like mine on the Highway for safety reasons, every time I pass one of them mini cars, (in a crash I would rather have the truck under me) traffic is just to crazy now-days.
