Well, I am going to have to change my sig now. For some reason I just had the urge to call the dealer to check on the status of my new truck and he said we must have ESP as the Cassens Transport truck just arrived and they were starting to off load. Oo. So after they get it cleaned up, he said it was filthy, tomorrow I should be the proud owner of the newest Ram in the family:D

Ordered 12-12-03

Built (JS) 1-13-04

Shipped 2-2-04

Arrived 2-16-04

For the record, it seemed like it took a long time but really only about two weeks in transit. If it hadn't been in JS status for three weeks, total time from order to delivery would have been about 7 weeks.

No sleep tonightOo.

Filthy, huh? The dealer told me he'd received some really filthy banged-up trucks via direct shipping, whereas mine came via slowboat but clean & unscratched. Maybe there is an advantage to sitting 3 weeks in the slowboat after all... :--)

RLighthall,

Yea, it was pretty dirty from the road but not banged up any. I went by to take a look and the dealer had it in his indoor wash room. Boy did it look good after the washdown! I only spent a few minutes looking so as not to delay the prep work but didn't see any outside marks or dings. I will pick it up this afternoon and give it a good looking over then. I didn't get there in time to see them unload it and it was probably just as well. I would have been plenty nervous I'm sure! I am really looking forward to driving it today. :)

Congrats on the new baby! I mean Truck! :)

It must be quite exciting to order a new truck and have it arrive.

One thing I have not done yet but I wouldn't be patient that's for sure! I've always bought mine off the lot.

Enjoy your new ride! Get some pics!

:D

Thanks Chris,

Yes, the wait nearly killed me! But it is finally over.

I will get the pics as soon as I can stop driving long enough!!

BTW I am WD4BRF. A bit inactive right now but have a new dual band VHF to install in my new ride. I will have to see how to mount it after I get the brake controller installed after I have had a chance to try the new truck out this weekend!!

Thanks,

George

George, I looked up your callsign. Are you aware your license is due to expire December this year? It's been almost 10 years. . don't let it lapse! I'm sure you won't. What dual bander did you get? I went to Dayton hamvention last year and bought a Yaesu FT857 all-mode multi-bander with HF, 2/6/70 etc. I plan on installing it in my Ram once I get around to buying a nice headache rack for mounting all the antennas! :D

Right now I have a Kenwood TM-D700 dual-band mobile, running APRS mobile. N5CWM's position

I don't get on the air much but always running the tracker. I'm using a Garmin GPSIII+ for the position input to the radio.

Dayton is also on my schedule for this year. Have you been yet?

Chris, yea, I need to keep in mind the expiration date. ARRL will alert me too. As to the dual band, it is a Kenwood but I cannot remember the model. Shows you how much I use it!! I am interested in finding out more about the APRS but that should be a discussion for a different thread I suppose.

Dealer called this morning. I am D1 with a ship date of 03/01. Will be my 5th model year in a row. 00,01,02,03,04.

My customers keep walking in saying "I want to buy your truck". Certainly don't want to disappoint them... ... ... ... ... .....

From another thread...

MO'Donnell,

I have been dealing with Vasko Dodge on US 19 in McMurray for a number of years now. Steve Vasko has treated us right and I like doing business with the local folks. It is a family run business with brother John Vasko running the service. They have worked with me on two previous trucks including the present ride: '02 CTD 2500 SO SB SLT/Laramie 3. 73 etc. I'm trading to get the better tow rating so I can be legal when towing. I suspect the weight police will be touching us in the not too distant future and don't want that hassle. Besides, I wanted some of the bells and whistles the new ones have!

DC predicted 2-17 for delivery and the dealer page says 2-20 so I guess I can expect it sometime next week.

What dealer are you using and what is your satisfaction level?

George -

I bought mine from West Pointe in Burgettstown. A friend of mine introduced me to the owner right about the time I was ready to place an order - I said invoice, he said fine, end of story!

:D

They have definitely worked hard since then to earn my business, first-class treatment for my sister when she wanted a new Jeep. Only experience with their service dept has been for a tire rotation and replacement of a headlamp that fogged up.

I sent you a PM, please read!

Hope you are enjoying your new truck!

Mike
