Tahoe 5th wheels

just testing

Does not look like that little car has the power to push those 2 trucks. Must be a hy-bred Cummins under the hood of the car. You think? Oo.

bet they're headed for mexico... seems like all of j. b. hunt's off-lease equipment heads south of the border. .

Pushin'

Saw a motor home on I84 in Pa. yesterday with a little Japanese econo car in tow. Plate on the tow vehicle... " I-Push":) . Jim G.

I see 'em headed south on 77 or 281, 3 or 4 cars or trucks all hooked together and 3 or 4 of these combinations traveling together headed to the Border!! When the lead tow car overheats and catches fire they just pull the pin on the tow bar and push the car into the ditch where it burns down and torches the pasture!! Then they fire up the next rig in the combo and hit the road again!!!! What a Deal!!! Only in South Texas or North Mexico!!

I've seen that same setup many times when mobile home movers are on their way to/from moving a double wide. The front tractor has hydraulics on it that lift the towed tractor. Some drivers will bring along a passenger car for their pilot car. All three drivers ride in the front tractor on the way to the mobile and back home. Saves fuel.

Mobile home moving tractors have a hydraulic hitch whose height can be adjusted from the cab by as much as three feet. They use it to keep those long mobile homes from dragging their front or rear ends though a dip.

Saw a good combo this morning pulling into the NC State Fairgrounds. It was a sleeper tractor pulling a pup box trailer with a dovetail tag-along hauling a high-lift all-terrain forklift as the second trailer. Didn't get a good look at the dolly setup for the dovetail but he was swinging wide to make the gate.

I always thought you pulled the heavier pup and let the lighter load trail. Must have been a bear of a load in that box trailer.

1 driver

Illflem, I'm pretty sure what we are seeing here is 1 driver, 3 vehicles. As dmurdock stated, the tractors are headed south of the border, then the driver gets back into the Escort [probably the only legally registered vehicle] for the return trip. You would not believe the un-inspected, barely road-worthy junk they use for OTR "down there" Jim G.

Didnt I read in the news that the Gubment is gonna allow Mexican OTR trucks to haul freight into the States without having DOT inspections on the trucks

My job takes me to the Rio Grande Valley quite often and you'd oughta see some of the junk that is coming across the border in a full blast torrent!!! Danged scary!! And there is no way in heck that our people can even start to inspect their equipment for safety etc. And the McAllen corridor is now the leading pipeline for cocaine coming into the states. Still think they'd oughta just lock the gates and throw the key in the river!!!!

Does this mean we will be able to buy cheap chinese Dodge Diesels next year to save another dollar made by our brothers in Missouri, Oh wait we never saw the savings that came from MexiDodges that families never profited from in this country

Thats okay the mexitrucks are inspected by Nokare for You Safety agency and again we pay for their profits with our lost jobs sanctioned by our elected officials. So when travelling this weekend in the big Dodge think of yourself as a SELF financed Charitable organization that helps everyone nation wide.
