Where can I get DD2's?

Bombs = unbelievable fuel milage

... but I just dont understand why some of our dear members aren't getting the mileage from thier Rams that they should be. I fueled up last night and got just above my normal economy. In a combo city/hwy I got 22. 64mpg correcting for slightly taller tires. I dont baby the truck, but I dont thrash it either... I will drag race some scum-sucker in his 5. 0 occationally, and be content to cruise along at 70 and let everyone blow on by... . I use it like a car to the office everyday. Sure wish I had a magic wand to fix what ails a few of you.

My 2500 AT gets about the same mpgs as yours. I think what drags a lot members fuel economy down is short trips where the engine never gets warmed up. I drive my Toyota gasser if I'm going less than 15 miles...

24mpg that's nuthin

When i drive my truck down hill, my trip computer says 99mpg. How the heck can you beat that. I think i will only drive down hill from now on. LOL

Actually, i think illflem might have hit something there. I drive only about 12 miles to work everyday, and even when i plug in, it takes forever to get up to temp. We all know they dont run very strong when cold, it stands to reason they aren't all that efficient when cold.

I get about 20 regularly. The way I drive it, I'm sure there is another 2 mpg's in there. :D

Just for kicks, I filled up at a station the last three tanks. I lost about 3 mpg's. I think because it's a winter blend, but I've always seen better mileage with the stuff I get from my back yard. :D

That will work but, as they say, you can never go home.

If you jack up the back end of the truck, you will be running downhill all the time. Oo.

We have to be running winter blend down here. I cant get over 20 on the highway driving 65. My best is 23. 8

milage

I get with the winter blend 17. 5 to 18. This is city driving and the 20' gooseneck stock trailer on board. The winter blend is 10% #1. That is what it says on the pump anyway !! In the summer I can get up to 23 and a low of 20.

I get 16 everytime I check, no matter how I drive, where I drive, or where I get the fuel. I'm not complaining though, cause I got a whole lot of truck and a whole lot of power!:D

DOH, i am so stupid, i just put that leveling kit on my truck, i should have raised the back an additional 2 inches. Man if i had only known my mileage would probably double. bummer

Last fillup: 1,137 miles on 9. 2 gal diesel = 123. 5mpg :D

Oh! did I mention this is in my Rabbit diesel P/U, and I also used 16. 6 gals of free used cooking oil? No? I'm sorry!

Milege

Hey guys, its all in the tire size, riight foot weight, RPM/speed and how long you run in OD. My average is 16 heavy foot city and 19. 5

highway @65mph. Tires are 295. :D

A mix of about 50/50 suburban/highway driving has yielded between 20. 5 and 21. 5 mpg for me for the last 120K miles. Worst ever was 18. 9; best was 24. 3 (all interstate). Except in Jan. and Feb. , when I'll lose about 1 mpg to the dreaded "winter blend". It's not a horrible situation, but why do we even need this stuff - especially in the Southern states? I've driven a little bit more highway on this tank, and that will probably get me over the 20 hump - this time.

Other considerations for fuel milage DO make a difference: engine in-tune or out-of-specs, 2wd or 4x4, 3. 54 or 4. 10 axle, 2500 or 3500, camper shell or not, auto or manual trans, tire size, and driving habits & road conditions. Oh, and that towing stuff!!

One thing I'm going to do very soon is check (and probably advance) the pump timing - say, to about 15 degrees BTDC or so. I hear that will help a lot of different things with the 12-V. :D
