Good Morning All,

I dropped off the radar last week when we went camping over on the island. Got back Sunday evening and then had to pack up for a 6.00am Monday flight to Detroit for a Daimler function. Just catching up on stuff this morning...

I'm getting too old for this pace...

Do like Detroit though, hoping to get to Slow's BBQ tonight for a triple threat and Mac-n-cheese..

At the Detroit Renaissance Marriott, apparently its GM's building. There are GM products parked in here everywhere.

I was in Detroit, actually Dearborn, in 1984. West of the interstate it was pretty nasty looking, as I recall. I remember how Tiger stadium looked like it fell out of the sky among tenements. I think the Ren-Cen is GM headquarters, AKA The Silver Silos.

It looks a bit better now, they have made some improvements. Just took a taxi down to Slows BBQ for supper, can't handle any more hotel food today!!!

Brought one of my top guns along, getting a tour of the Detroit Engine Plant tomorrow.


He is enjoying Slow's for sure...

Been there done that and will not fly or stay in a motel/hotel any more after 40 years of doing that.
