I want to put an aftermarket tach with a shift light in my 2001. 5, But I'm not sure if its possible. If any one has done this and the tach reads properly. please inform me on how to hook it up.

Most aftermarket tachs have too high an RPM range. The needle sweep would barely be noticeable on a 8000 or 10000 RPM tach when used on a CTD... that is if you could get it to work.



But it sure would look cool. If you find a Tach with a 0-4000 RPM sweep that looks like this one... and a way to run it from the CTD... . I will be putting one on my truck!

I already have a auto meter memory tach w shift light. I just dont know if there is a tach lead and if there is one and I hook up to it is it going to read correctly.

auto meter is going to make one this year with a shift light and recal or so they told me and Eric at the PRI show in indy

HVAC have you tride the tach you showed can you adjust he shift lights I will need some thing sence the goverenor on my pump has been lets say deactivatied

They (Auto Meter) are working on one like George said. It'll be universal and you will buy the RPM reader that fits your engine. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything. They have a diesel tach (6K) but it's not 5" with light. I have a micro shift light, but I haven't had time to get the sqare wave reader hooked up to it.
