i'm tired of dial-up modem. what are my options?

direcway is in SWEEEEEEEET !!!!!!!! i never imagined it would be like this !!! what was a modem again

i'm talkin downloading a pic quicker than you can blink your eye's verses waiting 3 or 4 minutes uploading is alot faster than a modem but no where near the download speed.

shoulda done this a looooong time ago !!! i bought the upgrade kit to run my directv on the same dish too.

Do you have any more specifics on the "Pronto" DSL setup? I live fairly close to town, but we still have ancient lines - can't even get 33K much less 56K modem speed, best I have ever connected is 26. 4K and to get that I have to pull the tin cans and string REAAALLLY tight



I looked into the DirecPC type setups but they are apparently unacceptable for online gaming, I need DSL or equivalent to get a ping low enough to be able to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Gotta have RTCW, by far the best game I have ever played. Only thing missing is the smell of diesel...

Now the B. O. M. B. itis bug has drifted to his computer from his truck since his back is out of whack and its sitting parked and clean,LOL. Glad to hear you got it all dialed in now and its working. Try looking for the new drivers needed on the manufacturers websites,usually they are a help,usually... LOL... . Andy



P. S. -Now all he needs is a couple of 120GB hard drives for pictures and storage and look out he will be in his glory... .

Had the same problems with my all-in-one. Downloaded the drivers, etc, and still never got it to work 100%. Finally just broke down and got a new one yesterday. Problem solved.
