Towing enclose car trailer what gear?

Any leads on a used Double Tree trailer

We took our trailer out for the first time since purchasing our cummins late last year. Since this is my first diesel, right off the bat I was impressed with the pulling power of the cummins engine. I had to check the mirrors to make sure the trailer was still behind me. It sure is nice to have plenty of power and then some more in reserve. What really impressed me was the use of the tow/ haul feature along with the engine brake. I can't believe how much brakes you can save when using these together. Coming home and back down the grade was a breeze. I experimented with down shifting the transmission myself along with using the engine brake, this worked great. What really made me smile was leaving it in drive with tow/ haul and the engine brake engaged. The engine would downshift as needed while i backed my foot off the pedal and the engine brake would keep kicking in and slow things down. This combination is a very nice feature, which I really enjoyed. I hardly had to use the brakes at all. Overall between the power, and the transmission with engine brake, towing is now a fun thing to do. I am so glad i finally made the jump to this Dodge truck.

That is great! Is your truck the HO? What is your RV make and model? Combined weight? Gear ratio? More info is always better. Maybe add some to your signature.

I still can't believe how well mine tows 27,000# combined with 3:42 gesrs.

No, my truck is non HO. . I cant imagine what that extra 150 lbs of torque will do. . I got too good a deal to pass up on this one. I have the 3. 73 gears in mine. The trailer is a 27ft Salem travel trailer, I don't remember the weight off the top of my head (not really that much) but my 07 Ram Mega with the hemi struggled to pull it, especially up hill when fully loaded. Like I said above, while the cummins power is impressive, I really liked the way the truck performs in tow/ haul with the engine brake on. The ability to virtually not have to use your brakes while going downhill while towing is a nice thing to have. You are saving both tow vehicle brakes and the trailer brakes. I also thought the integrated brake controller worked ok. Seemed to have enough strength to apply the trailer brakes fine. I think I had it on level 5. 5 or 6. 0. I know people have complained about theirs, maybe our trailer is not heavy enough to notice it not working well. All in all I am glad I got rid of the hemi and made the switch to cummins, my only regret is not doing it sooner.
