been using for 2 wks now. Install with
D5W Espar. I say wow what amaze does this with my truck.
The entire engine block get very very very warm at
about 1 hour when the temp is -17 Celius below. At 45 min
engine just feel warm. At 30 min
no engine block warm but does manifold heater
light goes out right after turn key on. I was impressed with Espar because, the
engine block heat radiant does spread to oil filter mount
and get warm there at top of mount, where I can feel heat
from there. There are other postive results from Espar heater are that when I take oil dipstick out and see what on the top of
oil dipstick, the oil feels warm at that level,
and at the bottom of dipstick it is cold.
I have test remote control, the range somewhat between 200' to 250'.

The other advantage is here.

When plan go shopping during very cold day, I could turn Espar manual on when the engine is shut off and set blower fan from lowest to 2 lower fan, these good for short period of time to amaze that these Espar heater won't fire diesel fuel but keeping water pump going on till get temp down to that range and kick heater fire on. No more idling to stay warm.

And bad side it is loud like lion roar.
I have seen some people looking at my truck,
and wonder what that sound make me giggle.
Love that Espar.

Me too, I hope!
Significant other says ix-nay to engine mods and exhaust brakes, but O-tay to anything that keeps her warmer #ad

Espar Dealer (Polar Research) installed
for me. Took about 6 to 8 hours to install.
Note: Espar heater cut off
at less than 1/8 of fuel tank or very low
tank, instead of 1/4 tank as instruct from Espar manual. The fuel line rod should be at 14. 25 inch from top of plate to bottom that is how mine is running at 1/8 borderline of fuel tank. Will see how low Espar will cut off.
Espar is installed beside the passenger
battery instead of driver frame side as instruct by Espar manual thus save me
about 3 or 4 hours job. And you can
see right there and feeling also
no salty come up, perfect position from there.

I thought the Espar kit for Dodge came with a D4 and not D5 heater. Did you get the higher output heater because of extreme cold conditions in Alberta, or just because you wanted faster warm-up?

I, too, hope to be a member of the Espar club. The dealers here in Maryland are primarily interested in commercial fleet and larger unit sales - I need to find a dealer that will mail-order one of the D4W kits to me. Hopefully the install won't be too difficult - me and my mechanic are likely to attempt the install ourselves.

Yep, offer for hundred buck more for D5W,
better deal and higher heat output ideal for
Alberta where coming month like Jan or Feb
likely very cold period.
