I pull a heavy 5th wheel, when connected there is 7500 lbs sitting on the rear axle. Thought about the Timbrens, but then decided on Air Lift air bags. Well, if I were to do it over, I would not go with Air Lift. Don't mean to bad mouth Air Lift, because it is good company, except the kit for 2003 dually is a poor design. It has to be mounted between axle and frame, not much room for height, uses a single bellows bag. Had mine installed, $400, then after 5000 miles notice the bags were being cut by sharp edges on the bottom mount. Air Lift answer to this was to "add air pressure", was running about 75 lbs, they wanted me to go to 90 lbs. Well the max is about 100 lbs and the ride was pretty rough at 90 lbs. Ended up cutting several bags, to make a long story short, costs me three bags at $105 each, and still had problems, Air Lift would not warrant them. Told Air Lift, they needed to add the roll plates on top and bottom like other kits have, they said "No". Did it anyway, todate no more cuts on bags. Now have over $700 in this system. If I could find a good spring shop, I would use them, also looking at Kelderman.
