OK I have had water collecting on top of my passenger side floor mat for quit some time... . 4-5 months. Just a little amount. I could not track it down. Most of this time it has not rained one drop for like 90 days,,,,,so not an issue from rain. First of all years ago I removed the carpeting and installed a vinyl camo floormat that fit the truck... . I have yellow labs that are always with us... . so their hair and those upholstered seats were a nightmare. I also had the seats upholstered in HD Vinyl... they have been redone 3 times, wear and various young pups that have liked them... as well as 4 factory headliners... OK I know... . BUT the water leak... . OK it was NOT antifreeze... . I replaced the heater core several years ago... It was clear water THAT I could not locate the source. Well after eliminating a door leak, or window leak. . remember no rain,,,(backed it up with a hose however) I discovered guess what... IT WAS THE SMALL HOSE that extends from the HVAC unit in the cab to the OUTSIDE... It comes out under the Accumulator... and in my case was sticking out about 1/2 inch. It always driped water BUT what was happening was that the water was running back on the bottom of the hose and BACK INTO THE CAB at that seal... . The bottom of the HVAC at that point was moist to teh touch... . and it was running under the mat and building up like a reservoir under the mats. I removed the door step (boy did the water run out when I removed the screws) and pulled the mat back and it was like a North Dakota Pot Hole,,,surprised there weren't any mallard eggs there. BUT no rust ... . SOLUTION..... I extended the hose with a amsll 90 degree bend - BINGO..... PROBLEM SOLVED!

My former '05 Silverado did exactly the same thing. Only, the end of the rubber hose melted due to the heat coming off the right side exhaust manifold. I ended up placing a small piece of copper pipe inside the new rubber hose so that it would stay open under the heat. It worked well until I sold it.

Glad you found it. Lot's of talk on this in the past.

The AC drain on mine had a very slight upward angle to it where it came through the firewall. This allowed the water to drain back down the little pipe, through the foam grommet around it at the firewall, and into my floorbaord. I stuck a 1' long piece of 5/8" heater hose on the tube and since have not had any issues.
