Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting People freaking out!!!

Be glad if you are not on I-95 in Connecticut this morning.........

I am glad this is getting publicized. I have been telling people the same thing. New York's stupid 7 round law, so 4 guy's break into a house and a gun fight starts, 4 rounds miss and no extra clips, what do you think the outcome is ?.

Dave

NY made a "highly publicized" arrest last week, a person pulled over on a very minor V&T charge had a legally registered and permitted pistol on his seat, with 9 rounds in the mag. in an unrelated story from a different part of the state, 3 people were shot in a westside Rochester house on friday. . go figure.

It's an age old battle, gentlemen. I suggest you pick a side. Fearful people want the government to take care of them. The courageous leaders that formed this country took care of themselves. The "Greatest" generation, rising up out of a depression, hardened and forged from hunger and strife, took care of themselves and the rest of the world in the late 1940's. Time has allowed, yet again, for our current generation to forget what strife, hunger, and danger really are. They, the unpatriotic sociopaths, fear the people that can take care of themselves. They fear our independence, and the fact that we don't belive when they say so, and can live without them, and would prefer to. They fear our curiosity, and get angry when we question their fractured logic. The fear our ability to learn, and get angry when we doubt thier truth and seek out what the truth really is. They fear our quest for betterment of ourselves, in fear that they themselves will be found wanting.

And most of all, they fear our desire for justice, and our abilities to enforce it, as they have not been giving justice to their brothers and neighbors. They deny us of free speech of our religion, they deny us representation in our taxation, and they deny us the future we've worked so hard to build. In that, they fear our weapons and desire for justice, as they fear when we will choose to use them. Thier's is an evil lot. They fill our airways with propaganda to corrupt the minds of our neighbors and children, as well as our schools and public buildings. It's deemed acceptable if they kill an unborn baby, but it's not acceptable for We the People to first kill a perpetrator intent on killing our family without their permission, as he is one of them. We are still here, but we are under attack. We've been overburdened by so many hardships and preoccupied with so many distractions, we've not seen them pull the wool up and try to put it over our heads.

But now is the time we must act. We must beat them at their own game. They will outright lie about facts to get their agenda in place. But truth is logical and powerful. Educate your neighbors, teach them about firearms, God, and Freedom. They're not something to be feared, but cherished and upheld to make our children greater men than ourselves. A firearm is nothing without the knowledge to use it and make it function. Freedom is nothing more than a memory unless we protect it. Lets use our ballot boxes and soap boxes to change this world we live in, hopefully preventing the use of our ammunition box.

These are only words if I don't act upon them. And they're only words if you don't listen and take action. Do your part. It gonna take all of us. IF we don't do something soon, what kind of world will we leave our children to inherit?!?!

Well said.

I will buy into that line of thinking

BIG

My thought is if a gun came with a 30 round magazine, that is standard capacity. And the only defense I should need for a "high capacity magazine" is that I want one. Or five. Or ten.

The NRA is somewhat dancing around the subject, as they don't want to be called crazy theorists, but it's about control of the rifle, not the magazine. I've said it, along with many others, it's our right to choose what size of magazine we want, and my most used example is fuel tanks in your vehicle. Who says you can't have a 35, 50, 110 gallon tank, or two, in your vehicle? Limiting the amount of ammo would be the same as limiting your fuel tank size in your truck. All you are limiting is the fuel capacity. People always fall into the line of thinking with me, and argue that vehicles are not as dangerous as "assault weapons"..... I correct them and then show them facts. Vehicles kill over 10 times the people every day. Most are accidents, same as firearms. Those that are truly vehicular manslaughter, are somewhat low in number. Same as firearms. Usually the rebuttal is, "You have to have a liscense to own a vehicle. " Incorrect. You have to have a liscense to drive your vehicle on a public roadway. Owning one is not limited in any way. Buying fuel for one is not limited in any way. It's perfectly legal to own the fastest car in the world without any licensing whatsoever, and you can drive it on your own private property all you want without registration, inspection, or a driver's license. This all basically translates into open ownership of firearms. The only licensing required would be for carrying in public. That's called a concealed carry license.

Very few think it through far enough, but occassionally, when they do, there is one last rebuttal. "All cars have titles and are registered with the government, so guns should be as well". Well, I hate to break it to you, with such a big smile and a shake of my head, but so are any modern firearms sold today in the United States. When built, their serial numbers are retained by the manufacturer, who ships it out the door, where it goes to a licensed firearm dealer, who then sells it to an individual, requiring that individual to go through a Federal background check before they can complete the purchase. The dealer keeps the "yellow sheet", Form 4473, for a minimum of 7 years, where it is readily available to Federal Law enforcement officers. Vehicles are way more dangerous, yet much easier to purchase and own. I don't recall ever going through a background check to purchase a vehicle... ... And to carry it in public, I have to have a license, which to obtain, I have to take training by certified personel, pass a profiecency test with it, as well as a written test. Sound familiar? And in Texas, guess who also does the CHL training certification and licensing? Yep, Department of Public Safety, the same who issue driver's licenses.....

And on top of all the other driving v. gun arguments, owning a gun is a right. Driving a car is a privilege.

Yes, but that line of discussion, an inalienable right, is hard to follow when you have a liberal twit on the other end of the argument. They don't understand the difference between a democracy and a republic, let alone an inalienable right specifically spelled out and enacted to protect life and liberty. The comparison's I've learned to use are ones they deal with on a somewhat regular basis and can somewhat comprehend..... And when they think about it later, the similarities help them remember the conversation, so MAYBE they can actually think for themselves a little. Sometimes, it works... . Sometimes you just confuse the participant, which usually makes them angry. Most of them get angry when they get confused..... You'd think they'd get used to it... .
