Time to buy a house and have some kids!

I'm looking into the house thing. tired of lineing someone elses pocket with nothing in return :(

Not married, but my GF parents think we are :rolleyes:

anyway, that was my truck accesories / IRA / S&P500 money :{

now I just have enough to get my toyota's clutch replaced :mad:

I hope those welfare mothers with cell phones talking about their earned income credit enjoy my hard earned money #@$%!

Guess I am a nerd. Did mine in Feb and got the refunds from both in 2 weeks. Love that software. Hey as for the right offs, remember charitable donations are right-offs as well. Several to chose from nowadays. I actually get more off my taxes for that, than my house. Just my . 02

As Daddy used to say, "Son, ya gotta make it before ya can write it off. "

C'mon guys, if you're seriously sick enough of the system and want to do something about it, it's time to check out

Fair Tax

Started reading the Fair Tax information and the first thing I came across was

"(except where state income taxes apply). "

That is a killer in some cases, east and west coasts being the biggest issues, but in the middle, there is Minnesota, LAND OF 10,000 TAXES!!!!!

This year, for the first time, I am getting a refund, Federal and Iowa, but in Minnesota, I am paying big time (on top of paying through the nose on deductions), as I have every year I have been there.

Glad the new house (log!!!) in Iowa is almost done, and hopefully the house in MN. will sell fast, for a fair price, etc!!!!!!!

and I am away from MN. taxes!!!

and on top of already having 30% taken out of my pay in taxes #@$%! , I'm having to write a check for $1500 this afternoon :{

i had to pay about that last year, but this year, i already got myself a cheque back for just over $4,500... :D

although, i had to put a massive amount of $$$ into RRSP's to get that big return, but i can take all that back when i buy a house as a first time home buyer, so i don't pay tax on the amount in the rrsp, plus i get all the interest i am owed for the 5 year term up front, and i have like 10 years to pay it back with no interest...

i think i am doing the right thing for me, i hope these decission don't come back to bite me in the butt...

If this pi$$es you off, do something about it. Support the fair tax. www.fairtax.org The current system of income tax punishes achievement and rewards laziness. Tax reform is desperately needed and the fair tax seems like a great way to do it in a way which would at least be more fair to all.

I really like the plan that came up a couple years ago. 10% across the board. Nothing less and nothing more. That figures up to be a little more than the government is already getting. The actual real solution is to make the "Federal Checkbook" available to the public for viewing. Then when we see the actual stupid expenditures, we can all raise a flag with one voice (actual democracy) and put a stop to it. The extra part of that would be to make the laws understandable to the common man. If the laws that govern me, require some PHD of Law to explain to me, then there is something wrong. Would it not be simpler instead of writing a 40 page bill into law, to just write it up for what it is? Oh well, ranting way to hard here. The 23% is way to high and would not benefit as well as the other IMHO. There are plenty of ways to see that the money we give government is way to much. My state is one of the worst. They can not account for any of their money. Wanted a lottery to fix all the issues. Heck, if you can't tell me where $33 billion a year is going, why would I give you another couple of billion to misappropriate.
