In Line fuel filter - Good Idea?

Looks like a very clean system... ... ... ... . the GDP with CAT filter looks great. How does the changing out the CAT filter work - does not look like enough room to unscrew and replace the CAT filter?

There is plenty of room... Thou I haven't changed it yet. . Will be next month thou.



I have heard of people putting the 1R-0749 on, which is a lot longer, but I just dont think its needed.

The Trick to accessing the fuel replacement transfer pump located on the 04. 5 fuel filter housing:
IS TO REMOVE THE INSIDE PLASTIC WHEEL WELL SHROUD - when this is done access to the pump is possible. Otherwise to remove the pump and install the new pump "from under the vehicle" as stated in the manufacturer's direction requires one to have at least 48" arms - a vehicle life or an incredible magic socket extension with eyes to see where to line up the O ring and insert the four 5 mm hex bolts.
I never found this MOST HELPFUL INFORMATION in any TDR article nor was it indicated in Federal Mogul's literature that came with the pump.
I hope this helps someone when they are stranded on the road side with a new pump in hand or in their driveway wanting to make the change in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
I can not take credit for this "access through the wheel well method" as MY DODGE DEALER'S MECHANIC was the source.

Your reference sites are 2 of the best - info and pictures very helpful, I even printed both prior to installing the new pump.
Nevertheless, I did not find any reference or suggestions "TO REMOVE THE INSIDE (left side) PLASTIC WHEEL WELL SHROUD" my point was to offer another easy way to access the fuel transfer pump located on the 04. 5 fuel filter housing.

It was on the Other Drop down Link, So I move it this morning to the Bracket install Link,Should have been there before,it was on the edit Page But not showing up on the link Page. . I sometimes almost pull my hair (that I left) editing the site.
