In reverse, parking lights flash and horn honks

Okay, 2006 Mega Cab 4x4, put the truck in reverse, and take your foot of the brake pedal and the horn starts honking and parking lights flash, just like if you pressed the panic button. Any suggestions? It just started it.

Is your door open and sealtbelt unhooked? If so, that's normal, unfortunately. Or does it happen with door closed?

That is the recall from a few years ago to make sure its in park before you get out of the seat to walk behind your truck.



Need the door shut, to back up.

I took my 04 in for some other work and this recall came up for my truck and I refused to let them enable this. They said no problem because it was not mandatory. Check with them because they should be able to remove this.

They won't be able to remove it. Just like any other firmware updates no turning back. Some palms got greased at the NHSTB to let this mickey mouse fix be approved.

Just connect the two wires together that go to your seatbelt.
