Hello Fellow TDR'ers!

Last month I had High Output Injectors and a recalibrated Bosch VE pump installed by Ted and the fine folks at JRE! While spending the day with Ted, he mentioned that my truck will respond nicely to the pump & injectors with my current 14cm2 housing but that I should try a 12cm2 housing to see the difference on a First Generation D/C.

I know this has been discussed in depth on the TDR but I'm wishing to experiment with the 12cm2 housing to understand the difference. I'm even willing to squeeze my exhaust through an 1. 5" exit to experience any differences first hand. Many of the things Ted mentioned made sense for a VE injector pump equipped Old Dodge. My girlfriend drives an almost identically modified (by JRE) '92 W250 with a 16cm2 housing compared to my '92 W250 with a 14cm2 wastegated housing. I enjoy the trottle response & off idle torque in mine much better than her 16cm2 housing.

Does anyone out there in TDR-land have an 12cm2 that they might of taken off when they installed a 16cm2? One with the wastegate set at 30+ PSI would be perfect!

How about it Joe Donnelly, could you just pick me out the prettiest one you have from the top of the 12cm2 heap and make me a great deal on it!?

Anyone that's will to help out please reply or email to set up payment & shipping. Thank you in advance!..... Keeno

Oh my goodness... ... and I was contemplating removing the 12cm2 on my '98 and finding a 14cm2 housing to let it "run with it's wind".
Don't throw out the 14 without calling, it may have a home.

I've got an un-used 14cm2 with wastegate. It's the banks unit. I went the HX40-16 way. Pls e-mail me if interested. I don't have the HX40 on yet, but if you don't find a 12cm2, pls e-mail me. Mine is running 32psi now @ 5000' elevation. #ad

I have a nice pile of used and new 12 cm2 housings. Click on the appropriate icon above my post to e-mail me.
I try to keep a 16 around, and even have a 14 that was traded in on a 16. I find it hard to believe someone would voluntarily submit his Ram to the 12 #ad

hehehe would your like a 1. 5" chrome tailpipe tip too? I can get one with the pyro probe fitting in it so your egt will stay below 1300 #ad

sorry for the bad humor. #ad
I can understand the inquisitiveness to try the 12. I just couldn't disappoint the folks on the forum who know my preference for the 18. 5 cm2 housing at least on Rams with "earnest" fueling.

Hey Joe "Earnest" Donnelly!

I appreciate your offer and understand your reservations of the 12cm2 housing on high HP/Torque Cummins. I value the knowledge and opinions of the TDR Cummins Guru's on the forum but wish to do some experimenting for myself, have some fun and hopefully learn something in the process!

Joe, your email icon has not been functioning for a few weeks now, at least thru my server. You might want to check with the 'TDR higher ups' to see what the glitch might be. You were the first person I thought of in my quest for a 12cm2 housing to experiment with.

I would take you up on the 1. 5" chrome tailpipe tip kit with pyro but I'm concerned with the thermocoupling wire routing over such a great distance. Maybe I'll purchase one from you if I ever get around to installing the much desired "P" pump!

Thanks for your help! Maybe you could email me your email address or a tele # to reach you out West.

Hey Old "Longboard Rider" School!

You might want to strike up a deal with "Forrest" on his new 14cm2 Banks wastegated housing. I plan on keeping mine until I can decide what I really like for a housing.

With the mileage that the former "Old School Powerhouse" achieves using a 16cm2 housing, I might be shopping for one of these in the near future along with some tall, skinny tires. 22 MPG is hard to beat if you don't mined a bit of smoke initially when you "easy on the pedal"! My only concern with going to the 16cm2 is that I believe I would have to move the entire exhaust system forward (1. 5"s) to make up for not having a wastegate. Man that 1. 5" dimension sure comes up often when talking housings!

Stainless welded 1. 5" spacer, KEENO my friend. A nice MIG'ed one. One that a fabrication facility would do.
About the 14 housing... I've got quite a few irons in the fire right now, but it's on my mind.
Tall "skinny" tires for you eh? Way to go. I'm going to be losing the set of perfect stock Goodyear 245's and plated wheels soon, such a shame with only 6k on 'em... first come first served. .
About the '92 Powerhouse... the starwheel and the AFC diaphragm spring. . back it off a tad. Ease on the power.
Best
