I have had the fuel tank vent kit sitting in the garage for several months. My research tells me that you can not flow throught the lift pump if it dies, IS this correct?

If this is correct is there something I can do when running the vent kit to make a dead lift pump a quick fix later. Like maybe running a line and plugging it off. If so How would I accomplish this?

TIA

There usually an auxiliary pick up that goes down to a 1/4 of a tank. It will not pick up any fuel if the level is below a 1/4 tank. That keeps your auxiliary power plant from running you out of fuel, so you can get more. It usually is capped off on top of the tank. I have not checked to see if my tuck has one, but the 2nd Gen truck we have on the fire department had it and I used it to run the engine on the pump. RV chassis use it to run the generators.
