Does anybody know if you can run the stock lift pump with the in tank conversion, Im reading that the new style in tank pump is not providing enough pressure for the vp. The dealer is putting one in my truck,I spoke with the tech about the low pressure readings from the new pumps and he said it has more volume,I told him I thought the vp needed 15 psi or the pump will self destruct over time, something to do with timing. I then asked him if the stock pump could be run along with the in tank, he said yes. Has anyone done this and is it easy to do? Gregg

Thanks , still not clear on weather this is a good choice, or if is easy to do. I was hoping it would be as easy as plugging the original lp right back in ?

It is almost that easy. When they installed the intank pump there is a machined block that goes in place of the original LP. All you have to do is remove the block and install a new LP in the factory location. The other part is getting power to the LP. We chose to run a relay because we did not want to pull the 12 volt power off the ECM, instead we are using the power from the ECM to trigger the relay and the power is being pulled straight from the battery. If you need a relay wired up give Eric at Vulcan performance a call he could probably fab you one up. www.vulcanperformance.com. You will also need a splitter to split the ecm power that originally went to the LP. This sounds harder than it really is. It is really an easy install. The worst part that we ran into was dropping the tank to put the intank module in. The tank was totally full of fuel.
