CALL YOUR DEALER!!

I was just told $2000 rebate, plus $1500 bonus, plus $500 Farm

$4k is a lot of money! Plus I just got a ship date of 12/9. We are signing the paper work in Dec weather it gets here or not.

Man, I want to know who's your dealer! Dave Smith Dodge is in a race to sell trucks against another dealer THIS MONTH, but I'm unfortunately not ready to order just yet.

On the Dodge webpage, I only see $2000. Just sent the Texas Farm Bureau papers off today--so I'm at least a month out from ordering. Who knows what incentives will be next month... not sure if they're typically better or worse than December. I'd suspect better since folks are paying off December's credit card bills in January... but who knows... With Ford and GM incentives picking up, but their business down, who knows how D/C will react.

Anyway... glad I'm joining the Farm Bureau, anyway. I hadn't even thought about it until it was mentioned here, but it would be good to be a member since my wife and I are heavily involved in horses and have a keen interest in related agriculture and horse business in East Texas. Should be a great source of info and news.

Rebates now and later.

I have had 2 different dealers tell me "by the way, I can not guarantee the rebate. ” They say that I will only get whatever rebate is in effect at the time the truck is delivered. It could be the same as when I order or it could be no rebate. No way would I order a truck under those conditions. Anyone know if this is true?

It seems to me that it would be a breach of contract if they don't honor the rebate you expected when you placed the order, assuming that rebate was officially offered by Dodge at the time of order.

I'd tell the dealer to stick it in their ear and walk away. Tell them they can sue you if they don't like it.

99. 9% odds they'll elect to sell the vehicle to a willing buyer who'll pay the price they want LONG before they try to sue you in a case they can't win.

Don't do business with them, there either lying or stupid.

You have what is called "Sold Owner Protection".

Tell them to look it up in there agreement with Dodge.

You get the rebates in effect at the time you order, or the rebates in effect at the time of delivery. You decide which is best for you.

When I ordered mine, they made it sound to me like I could lock the price now, or wait and see what next month rebates were like, but I thought if I gambled and waited I lost last months rebates. I will have to ask about "Sold Owner Protection".

Sled Dog and Tow Pro... both of you are talking about exactly what I've been told by dealers earlier--only to have one of the go back on me and say they'd only honor the rebates at DELIVERY TIME.

Sounds like dealers are trying to do whatever's necessary to make a profit. If they don't make a profit, they're not even returning my calls for a quote.

I wish they'd get rid of "Cash Back", "Dealer Cash", Rebates, dealer markups, etc. Just tell me how much the freakin' truck costs!!!! When we bought our travel trailer this summer, one of the places we looked wouldn't tell me the best price they could do until I did a credit check and a bunch of other stuff. They "weren't sure of the cost to them because the trailer had so many options. " Bull! Got up and walked. With the advent of Online purchasing, you'd think the dealerships, of all makes, would be working a little bit harder to move the metal without all the slights of hand and card tricks. Obviously not all dealers are like this, but many are. So==how much is the truck? I can or cannot afford it. Thank you for not wasting my time.

Rant off ;)

Oh yeah-- the "do you have a trade in?" What difference does it make? How much is the truck, then I'll decide on if I'm trading and we'll discuss trade value. One thing at a time!

PM Tommygun he'll give you the lowdown off the bat.

I ordered mine just the way I wanted. Price up front, no money down, no papers signed, nothing! Eight weeks later truck arrived. Took my 8 page QC factory check list. Pulled it in the service bay, borrowed a creeper and flashlight and went to work. An hour and half later test drove.

Came back, went inside and signed papers. NO B. S. :D

Dealers I've talked to want me to sign papers before they place the order...

Seems that ANY buyer should have the right to refuse a truck they order if it has any problems. Is filling out paperwork before placing an order SOP?

P. M. Tommygun, he'll treat you right.

I'm sure he will anwser your questions, buy from him or no.

As for me, I was told that rebates in effect when I took delivery are what I would get. Luckily, so far, it has been to my benefit. I have a QC Laramie 4x2 on order since Oct. 1. They said it shipped 3 weeks ago and their system hasn't been able to give them status for over two weeks. I can't believe DC doesn't know where my truck is! I was told that beginning Dec. 1 through Jan 3, I get $2000. 00 rebate plus $1000. 00 Chrysler Financing credit, for a total of $3000. 00 rebates, or could opt for the aforementioned Miles of Freedom plan, which would be far worse for me. I get $3000. 00 off negotiated price, rather than no rebates and the card worth $2366. 00. That would be like financing $2400 additional to take the card. I am getting very anxious to get my truck, new to Dodge Turbo Diesel. I love this site and look forward to chatting with you good folks.

I live in Tulsa, OK. If I ever get my truck, I will set up a signature with details. Yes, you do have to finance with Chrysler to get the $1000. 00 rebate. I plan to make the first payment to Chrysler Credit, then move the note to my credit union. I am told I only have to make the first payment, then can pay it off, simple interest, no penalty. That, to me is worth saving $1000. 00. Of course, it would be nice to just write a check and be done with it, but I am not quite there yet.

I did that, but I didn't wait to make my first payment. I call their Finance Dept on their toll free number, got my account number and total payoff and sent them a cashiers check overnite express. I wanted to stop the interest, but it still cost me a few dollars. I wanted to pay it cash, but I did what you did to get the $1,000 rebate.
