Just to post the "final" diagnosis to (hopefully) close this out. I picked up a copy of the service order today as I couldn't get the dealer to mail it to me. This wording was included: "Traced wiring from switch to WCM, WCM to TIPM and found wiring from WCM to TIPM to be intermittent. Removed connectors between WCM and TIPM, tested all pins and terminals and found wiring to be less than 1 ohm. Found bulkhead connector wire F1 20PK/WH fused ignition off/run/start had bad crimp. Replaced terminal at bulkhead and condition corrected. "

Doesn't compute for me, but it starts every time, so WTH?

Some of the wiring harnesses that I've seen removed from Chrysler products ,at the dealership my wife works at ,would certainly lead me to believe that anything is possible. Saw an Avenger with a "transmission" problem, turned out that a crimp terminal was tight, but the insulation was not removed from the end first. Hard to find, but easy to fix once found.
hope your troubles are behind you.

I had the bad key deal too. Truck would crank, even start then die in a few seconds, after 3 trys it would not recognize the key. Also, the key fob would not open the doors. Thought I was in bad shape. Grabbed the 2nd set of keys that came with the truck and it started right up. I then replaced the batteries in the 1st set of keys, truck still won't recognize it.

Anyway, took to dealer and they re-established the 1st set of keys somehow.

My only non-emissions related problem to date.

HAPPILY I have been THREE WHOLE MONTHS without a trip to the dealer!!!!!

Record in the making.
