I live in Norway where I drive a 1997 Ram 2500 CTD Quad cab longbed. I have the "camper special group" with extra leaf springs and a sway bar (correct?)

As I understand it, this would normally allow me to have 265/75x16 tires and higher GVWR.

The cars norwegian dokuments says 245/75x16 and 8800lbs GVWR. If possible, I would like to have bigger tires and GVWR.

Does anyone have any information on this? is it possible to increase the GVWR and tire size? and if so, is there any documentation available?

IT would be nice if one could do this, you would see people pulling there houses down the hiway. Literally.

The manufacture sets these figures for the GVWR as they come from the factory. And It can not be increased by beefing up the springs, tires or what ever. If you just want to look cool, lift it and do the bigger tire thing. I belive the only way you could do it would be to jack up the radiadtor cap and put a FL60 under it. Or some other medium duty truck. I know, HKnutson, this not what you wanted to hear, but facts are facts.

Up grading for stubilty may be a more doable consept , spring over shooks , dual wheels .
I had a 73 ford , utilliy body , electric crane , 3/4 ton ,4x4 . and started to load for a moble service truck , well I admit to having a tool jones , so the truck started getting a little unwheeldy [ cloverleafs on & off freeways were an adventure ] , so I put the springover shooks & bought 4 dully rims and never had a better riding truck , but then as the wieght goes up , the next was needing more braking , by the time I retired the truck it was well into 9,000 or almost 10,000 lbs . everyday .
Ran it almost 12 yrs. - it was ruff looking but I think that kept the thieves from thinking that there was $80,000 in tools onboard .

You can probably put bigger tires on it. That may increase the stability when driving, but it will not increase the capacity of the truck.

Are there very many Dodge CTDs in Norway?
