I don't see any need to reply. All the other posters have done a great job expressing their opinions and experiences with ethanol.

You have to love an article that is so full of emotional bias and one that claims damage to something with out any explanations!!!

How about telling us ethanol melts cast iron or explodes on contact with air or anything, Harvey???

In all the years that ethanol has been available, I have used it in most everything I have. I even put E-85 in them in warm weather and they run ok on it. Never had any damage. Carbs, fuel injection, doesn't matter.

Can you PROVE your POINT????

was the last part about proving the point your first question? if so, then a little research will show you that what harvey posted is actually true. i dont know if all the things stated are true, however many of the statements made are indeed true; i know this from my education, and lend credence to everything that was said being true as well.

your statements about running e85 or some ration of ethanol/gas might be true. maybe your right and your suppliers put an additive in that helps i do not know. maybe your not running it that often to have much effect.

your situation is not suffiecent evidence. nor is it controlled enough to be consider proof that what harvey posted is incorrect. in order for your experiences to be validated there would have to be hundreds of thousands of cases or experiments with the exact same results as you. its the only way to validate your claim.

landry has scientific proof of what he claims. it can be repeated and measured, and not just by him but by anyone who would want to. the facts that landry states are also supported by industry standards and or practices already in use.

do a little research on ethanol, its chemical properties, handling procedures, and similar things. see if that changes your mind, and so you know im not siding with harvey cause i like him. just look around there are threads here where harvey and i have gone head to head, but here i think he and i both agree. im agreeing with him cause his information coinsides with my own.

Here is where you can buy ethanol free gas in Texas. It will also show you the links where you can buy it in other states.

I run ethanol free in my 1974 MG, and it runs like a brand new car, where as 10% ethanol causes it to run a little rough. Same with my 1994 Chrysler. Just like a brand new car. Both cars are getting at least 10% better mileage than on the 10% ethanol garbage.

Although it runs smooth on the 10% ethanol, my wife's buick will get 3-4 mpg better on ethanol free than on the ethanol.

The ethanol additive is a scam given to corn farmers in the mid west. I would suspect that anyone who defends "corn gas" is concerned about their own rice bowl.

BTW. Most cars, even from the early '90's can easily go over 300k miles if maintained. And a lot of people are driving them, and will be for a long time. And, those older cars (probably not the suv's) typically (at least in my experience) get better mileage than the new cars. I get as good if not better mileage with my wifes's 2000 buick lesabe than many of the small cars do now. With ethanol free gas, I've seen 34 mph on the highway with that car consistently.
