Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Increased engine noise

My 02 HO, seems to run a whole lot rougher with my superchips programmer on it. There is whole lot more chattering even at cruising speed. Also Have

1693 code. Im sure someone knows what this means. I like the power and

love blacking out headlights behind me with it but wondering if this noise is

normal for this programmer or I should start looking at my vp44.

1693 Code Definition

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC Detected in ECM

A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM



Heres what the 24 Valve code list states. ECM problem of some sort... .

That's probably too much timing advance. You'll get that increased clatter when a box or programmer bumps timing.
