indicator 4x4 glow plugs

This is my first post hope I do it right. Just bought first diesel 93 4x4 cdt. The 4x4 indicator and the area next to it that says cummins was cut out to mount gauges which do not work. I like things to be original can this be replaced? If so I am looking for one. Does this area also include the glow plug indicator? Please help newbie.

Welcome aboard -

The Cummins doesn't have Glow Plugs - it has a heating grid (kind'a like a small toaster) over the air intake... ..... like many other real diesel engines.....

Yep. No glow plugs. That is a very good thing. The grid heaters are considerably more reliable.



Things can be put back to stock, if you can find the parts. The diesel trucks can be hard to find in a boneyard.
