Hi all
Would it possible to put a indicator light
to tell when your in lockup? Not sure why
i even need it but it might be interesting.
I could always tell when it locked on my
98 gaser, i can,t on the 01.
Maybe i just need to pay closer attention.
Thanks for any help

Pretty easy to do, actually...

Just tap a wire onto the OR/BK wire in Pin 11 in the center plug of the PCM. Run this wire to one side of an LED, and run 12V+ to the other side of the LED. When the PCM tells the TCC to engage, it grounds the BK/OR wire and will illuminate the LED you installed. Easy as that. #ad

I did the LED trick a couple of months ago. Working fine with no problem.

EMDDIESEL, Evan stated where to find the appropriate wire in his previous post:

(i. e. , center connector of the three PCM connectors which is located behind the OE air box or just under your Psychotty Air in your case)

There is a point you should be aware of. The LED indicates that there is a ground to the lockup solenoid. That does not necessarily mean that the TCC is actually locked. It will lock when there is a ground present AND there is sufficient pressure to cause a lock up. In most all cases it will be locked, BUT if you have some aftermarket modifications to the transmission controls it may not be. For example, if you are at idle throttle (going downhill) and you have a mystery switch to manually lock up the TCC just turning on the switch will NOT lock up the TCC. The led will be lit but with only idle pressure it won't be locked.
