What would be some of the indicators of a faulty crank position sensor?? My 99 has thrown another fit besides the rattling transmission, it will only run about fifty and tachs out at about 1500 to 1800 rpm with a lot of white smoke. It had sat for about 3 weeks without running and when I fired it up white smoke went everywhere and it would only run on about 4 cylinders. What's up with the beast??

Thanks

Don

Could be the lift pump, the VP-44, the fuel filter, the MAP sensor, or a couple other things. A lot of times when the ckp goes bad the tach will start going all over the place.
