Michigan Farm Stock Pulls 2006

Hello TravisG, I have spent a LOT of time in Stevens Pt. and several other towns nearby, lots of good memories. Used to go to Pointers Hockey games back in college.

I will be starting out on I-39 from Rockford to I-74 east to I-57 back north to rt. 136 east. Its on the South side of the road just east of the town of Gifford.

Gregg and Lee,

My attendance also depends on the weather, if we get snow friday night, it will be a no go... call me if its questionable... .

There isn't any snow in the forecast, I think I hear the ball and chain tightening around your neck. :-laf

Ggg,

Not to be a backseat driver with you or anything, but if you hop off I-74 onto 136 south of Bloomington, it will save you a few miles rather than going down to Champaign to catch I-57. 136 is flat and straight and you'll just have to go through 1 town (my hometown Fisher which is a wide spot in the highway) before you get to Rantoul.

brianv31 no problem.

I took that route last year and it seemed to take forever to get to Gifford from I-74. So I thought I would try this way this year. I know 136 is shorter, but the interstates are much faster. If you know for sure it is quicker going 136 then I will go that way again.

I can't say taking 136 is faster for sure. If you liked the interstate better, I can't blame you. 136 is a long drive through the corn fields for sure. Whatever way you decide on - safe driving and I'll look forward to seeing all you guys there.

Yes buy the beer vendor 11:00-11:30.

I will be wearing a blaze orange cap, and I have a big Wyatt Earp mustache.

The truck is a Ford F350 4x4 RC LWB all black with a IAFF and TDR stickers in the rear window.

I have a full truck and we plan on being there around 11 or so. 2005 white quad cab and Ill be wearing a white Geno's Garage shirt with GOT DIESEL? on the back... .

I'll see ya all arould 11 too. Look for the hemi with 20's lol  I'm leaving the smoker at home. Protwin99, we need to meet up. -DLange

I hope to be there by 11. I will try and meet you all at the beer tent lol. I will be wearing a Cummins "C" over Dodge cap that is black and a leather coat that has a TDR emblem on the left chest area.

Git-R_Done!

I thought it was the Stoned Church posse. :-laf

Had a great time there. From this spectators point of view this is a VERY well run event. There was plenty of equipment to get trucks lined up, moved out, and prepare the track. There was very little down time between pulls. Whoever was in charge should be given kudos. I heard there was a last minute decision to run street stock trucks but I didn't see any street stock trucks run and that might have been just a rumor. (MOB guys just trying to yank my chain cuz I could not pull due to the new rules) I did not see any melodrama, or angry competitors either but I was not in the pits for very long, as spectators were not allowed in there while pulls were going on. MRosinski I never saw you after out phone conversation. :(

Tyler (RoadGoesOnForever) It was very nice to meet you. I hope we can meet again soon maybe down in Spring Bay. I was glad you saw my blaze orange hat from all the way across the venue. lol I couldn't believe I had the only blaze orange hat in the whole place but it did serve its purpose. About a 1/2 dozen MOB guys made it out there and they all said the same things about the event. There was a lot of pulling to see there, and it was well worth the admission. I look forward to next years event and this years pulling season. :D

brianv31- FYI as far as which route is faster Interstate or 136. They are about the same. I took the interstate on the way to the event and 136 on the way home. Each was about 40 minutes to get from 136/I-74 interchange to Gifford, or vise versa.

Ggg,

Sorry I missed hooking up with any of you guys. With the large crowd, it was hard to find people. I was real impressed too with how well run the event was. I think I might have been following you guys going back in to Rantoul after the afternoon session to get a bite to eat. Black PS w/ TDR sticker on it, a white 3rd gen CTD and blue 3500 CTD with a flatbed - was that you guys?

That definitely would have been us. You had the red and grey 2nd gen with the stacks I take it?

That was me, I would have pulled into TB with you guys, but I had instructions from my gasser friends that TB wasn't where they wanted to eat.
