Competition Looking for tech inspectors for Pulling series

It seemed a consensus from a lot people today that INDY was pretty much canceled, this was primary because of a multitude of vendors pulling support and a wildly held belief all the trucks now deciding to race elsewhere , this because of all the shenanigans going on. Who all was planning on going and what now

Update from DHRA

I just spoke with Eric McBride - DHRA. I thought it was best to get facts rather than speculate. Here is the scoop:

According to Eric, the FASS Diesel Nationals at Indy are not only on, but they plan a bigger event than ever. The dates are May 31 - June 1. Details will be updated on their website shortly. Their website is located at http://www.dhraonline.com.

Hope this helps.

Getting facts from McBride?!

That's like turning water into wine... or pulling a sword from a stone... or... parting the seas... or... .

Sorry - couldn't resist. :-laf

Most people I have talked to are changing their plans and using the same time and fuel to go else where.

I have heard from quite a few that it’s a total loss. No one in the upper ranks is going either. A few maybe are still paying lip service to the party line in public, but in private, are not wasting their time going to a place with out a show.

I also hear that the pullers are upset about some sort of rule finagle, not sure of what it is, but they are unhappy.

I have heard of three major vendors pulling support entirely, this is just as one has said the diesel world policing its own. It’s just that its time, the diesel world has moved on, there are more options and its not held captive to the old.

The groups that pull in Indiana, run a 2. 8 bushed class, So most of them have 3. 0 chargers bushed to 2. 8. That group is a large group of the top pullers, probably 5-6 of the top 15.

Looks like with the overwhelming success at the NADM opener at Bakersfield, its moot point, everyone has moved over to one of the two remaining diesel sanctioning bodies.

It’s all over but the funeral. The fact that everyone has decided to go else where has driven the last nail in the coffin

The great thing about all this, is that both NHRDA and NADM grew out of the mess and would have never existed if people had been treated fair and told the truth over the last few years.

I have heard from even more vendors, and after the few other goings on. I think the die is cast. It’s sad for the fans, I feel for them and this is why people should take the responsibilities of a position in this sport seriously

I’m sure that the best bet is planning to attend another race. I will be out and running soon, and its going to be exciting promoting the NHRDA and NADM by running 6 seconds side by side dragsters at their events. I am sure that between myself and Alex Laughlin in the Brakesmart Dragster crew chief by Charlie Stewart and the guys at Dr Performance will be running for the first 6 second pass.

Indy cancelled

Comp 461,

Is there going to be an alternative event the same weekend?

If either the NHRDA and NADM are going to have one, let us all know as soon as possible, so we can make plans. :)

Thanks,

I would just use the diesel fuel another weekend, this is a big let down for guys that plan a vacation around the dates, but the other two organizations are not in the mode to put a race the same weekend as a scheduled event. its just not right. And I agree.

This is lack of integrity is the reason that this organization is in a freefall and is not likely to last partway thru the year.

They have put races opposite of three events and just short of what most people would perceive as a strong arm tactics went to the local vendor and threaten to bring in another vendor as a title sponsor in their own backyard. , There wanted the NADP’s Black out , and when Barry at NADP didn’t give it to them, they scheduled a race in Utah. They went to Brady at Industrial and demanded that he fork over a big chunk of change of they had 5 other venders waiting to be the title sponsor of that race.

There did the same with Jess race, scheduling a race in Dallas and when the people here looked as the schedule, well, they had other commitments. It’s the same deal every time in every situation the lack of any kind of integrity. I say this with the knowledge that NADM and NHRDA are diligent to work hand and hand with each other to promote a future that is bright for the diesel motorsports enthusiast.

I know that a lot of people don’t understand my stand on this issue , but I have seen this activity that is perceived by most to be counter productive to diesel motorsports , but I feel it is the duty of any person that has the ability to step up and take a stand , to do that. I feel that the very future of Diesel motorsports is in the balance, , the future can become a huge success for everyone , but the scorched earth policy of this individual towards the other two diesel originations is taking away from the immediate future for the grass roots guy , and girl. I am taking this stand for these people that don’t have a voice on a national level,

This year is going to be a banner year for diesel motorsports , lead follow or get the hell out of the way

Indy cancelled

Comp461,

Thanks for the honest answers. I appreciate what you are doing.

Yes, I had that weekend already scheduled for vacation plans.

A little sightseeing may be in order instead.
