Competition Thunder In Muncie Dyno

Competition Just a pic of my rig.

Had a blast seeing all the trucks run even though mine was at home in the shop. I couldn't believe how bad those phords ran. I think some of them might be for sale after they saw what everybody else with the other two brands were doing. My buddies '03 dmax did a nice little 574 which i was glad to see. Hey Rob too bad we couldn't catch a good light leaving there either for a little street racing. Matt

Yea, that is too bad, since I had my stock injecotrs in, and Steve was driving, we'da got smoked! :)

I also had a great time, it was good to see everyone again, and glad to meet some new people, looking forward to the next one already.

Did that one white D-Max owner lunch his engine?

The other dark crewcab D-Max I saw (younger guy owns it... ) ran VERY well with a little snort of drugs.

I'm still not a V8 fan, but these things are putting some nice #'s down on the rollers.

The white dmax is kyle banks. I believe he lost a couple injectors from what i have heard. That dark dmax your talking about Matt is my buddies. Don't tell him that nos is drugs though. He says it's just "air in a bottle" . Very costly air in a bottle.

Matt

Hey Holeshot,

The scan tool on the white D-Max said injector problems. I suspect more than that though, unfortunatley.

It's going back to the dealer today for warranty work:rolleyes: .

If the dealer won't fix it, look out for him at Muncie. Cause if the warranties done, it's comin to the garage to get some "unauthorized by GM goodies". He's got one of Clint Cannon's trannies and would like to show Clint his tailgate lettering at the strip;) .

I personally bleed Cummins blue, but the white D-Max is quite a ride. That thing runs pretty good.

Cousin Billy

Just 'air in a bottle'?! Riiiiiiiiight. :D

I seriously doubt the dealer will touch that thing with a 10-foot pole. I didn't even have to get close to it to notice all the gizmos under the hood.

What was he (Kyle Banks) messing with under the plastic cover... by the fuel filter? Are they messing with the return line to keep more pressure in the system?

Matt

Cousin Billy,

I hope it's nothing major on banks's truck but i don't expect that thing to run good forever with the 100% methanol he's injecting without any water. Maybe someone can correct me here but from what i have read i didn't think you ever wanted to run that stong of methanol. How hot was that thing running pre turbo to color those chrome stacks like that. Matt

100% meth, lets see... Over advanced timing, melted pistons, weak con rods...

Does this guy even have an EGT gauge?

Sticks -

an egt what? ... ... ... never heard of that .

When u mix meth with water how do u know that 50 % of whats going in to the motor is half water and half meth ? duh u dont ... . i wasnt spraying that much ... ...

Matt-

We were bleeding the meth system... . AND the trucks at the dealer right now being fixed... . my total cost $100... . the truck was 100% stock when it went back to them except the stacks... .

the other Matt-

the dyno never puts enough load on the truck to get it very hot as for the water system and the NOS i dont run it on the street ... . but on the rollers id say it was lower than the dodge with 591... (suprisingly)... ... . congrats jeremy... ... and my stacks got blued and colored alot worse than that when i pulled last year (once) what u saw on there was from about 45 dyno runs... . and me driving the truck to indy 2 times in 2 days...

AND finally i just like to say:

I made 575 rwhp and 1114 #'s up at Cozzolino motorsports last thursday night running the same combo... .

Thanks Kyle

PS any more q's i'll try to anwser them .....

Kyle:

Any word on what you ate inside that 6. 6L yet?

It may only be costing you $100, but I'm sure it is costing GM a whole lot more. :)

Matt

Thanks turbo lcc and thanks Kyle (smokenmax) Im really surprised and greatful that we did so well and made it. John(Floorit), Adam(BigYellowIron),and I just got my head back on the day before. We got it together about 2:00 and headed to the dyon(Mustag Muscle) in St. Louis and spent the rest of the evening there (till 11:30pm) Then packed up and drove all night to Indy to find Gene Fogging up the hotel parking lot(7:00am) when we pulled in:) Checked in, unloaded, got breakfast and headed to the dyno(very tired). The hardly any sleep didnt really hit until I dynoed and rested my eyes in my truck for awhile. I hope I didnt embarace anyone when I fell asleep at AppleBees later that night:)(still very tired)

I would like to thank, John (Floorit diesel performance). JR Adkins (the Adkins diet), turbo lcc, BigYellowIron, the other Adam for the last min gasket, 98slushbox, 78repowerwagon (Headwork), Brad E. (FASS system), PDR (Goodies),Mustang Muscle (dyno shop), and the ShowMeSmokers. Congrats to everyone that dynoed and thanks to everyone that was envolved in this event!

BTW I put down 601 at mustang muscle the day before:)

Just a little mention for that gasket, I would not of had it if Paul (Alt) would not of gave it to me 10 minutes earlier.

Thanks Paul
