I have just recently purchased a TST for my 05. I am not unhappy with it at all, but I was sure that it would eat my clutch and turbo fairly easily. I am just going by all of the info that I had read about the TST on here. It does increase power, but when I get up to level 4 or 5, it feels like it planes out. I do not have a FP gauge but feel sure that the reason for not having that "crazy" power is that I am running out of fuel.

Now, as you have just read, I spent all my money on the TST. So, I have decided to engineer a pusher pump system. I am looking for any and all comments. The sound of the FASS is great, but the price cuts deep. I am going to go with the Holley blue and plumb it up the most efficient way. I have read that it will not perform up to spec when trying to "suck" through the factory in-tank pump. How do I plumb around it? Where is the best place to T into the factory line? Is the factory line sufficient? Can I run both, factory and Holley, if so, should I put the holley on a switch and just run it when I need it? Finally do I need to use the regulator that comes with it?

There it is. All out on the table. If anyone has any info on this project that might make it easier I would really appreciate it.

What about your EGT does it continue to go up as you increase the settings on the TST? If it does your still increasing fuel, and fuel isn't your limiting factor to additional power. I may be wrong but I think if you are really running out of fuel the truck will stumble. You may be running the cp3 at 0 psi on the low pressure side but I would bet your main limitation to increased power is air. TST on levels 4,4 is plenty of fuel for a stock charger IMO. Past this you will pay dearly for the power with increased EGT and an abused turbo.

My truck still has the stock lift pump (on the filter not in tank like the 05), with the sps 66 and a boost launch on TST9,9 I saw 1700deg F. before I hit 25mph, so my stock lift pump is able to provide quite a bit of fuel. I definately plan to add a FASS or Airdog in the near future, for reliablity if nothing else but I doubt the leveling off power you see at TST 4,4 is lift pump related.

You my freind have TSTitis, whereby the owner is afflicted with the desire (masquerading as a "need") to upgrade the turbo, transmission, lift pump, intake, exhaust and myriad other vehicle systems to maximize the use of their TST.

I agree with RMalone... my pickup is basically stock except for the TST and boost/pyro gauges and I have yet to feel my stock lift pump come up short on fuel. Rather, I'm in desperate need of a 1) a clutch and 2) a stronger turbo. I'd be willing to bet that you'd have to put out a lot of hp (probably over 400 at rear wheels) for an extended period of time before the factory lift pump will come up short.

Does anyone know if the '05 in tank pump has more flow than the 03-04. 5 engine mount lift pumps?

Thanks guys. I just don't know. When I turn the power up on the TST It sure does come on quicker, but still feels like it planes out, maybe even surges a bit. I am also running a predator on the pressure side. I just assumed that the stack would cook the clutch. As for the egt's, they really had no chance with just the pressure box. Now with the TST the egt's swing to 1600 easily. I never go passed that. The way I look at it is, for a second or two 1600 shouldnt hurt, it gets there so quick and cools down quick enough that nothing has a chance to ever get near that hot. But I dont know.

I do know I need a turbo, but it will have to wait. I just thought that I might take care of this problem now before it gets any worse. I dont like the Idea of dropping to 0psi. It cant be good. This post make sense http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ead.php?t=78702. I already have the holley blue. I am sure I will figure something out, hopefully this weekend I can get it installed.

As for the flow I am not for sure. I have read that the 05's have 5psi at idle. The 02 I had would idle about 16psi. I had a edge comp and a set of injectors and could pull it to 5psi. I then upraded my banjo bolts, but it did not help enough. I then added the high flow kit from wildcat diesel. It really helped, but the guage allways flutterd and made noise. I try many things to correct it but never did. I still had to put two lift pumps on that truck!

I just figure at 5 psi, it would have trouble keeping up, unless the flow is very high.

RMalone, how are you likeing you SPS66? I am going to upgrade, just not yet. Its either the SP66 or the SPS66. I have not decided yet.
