Just a quick question, I have the opportunity to buy a non-infininty CD, AM/FM, Tape Player for a very cheap price. But, its out of a Dodge with a Non-Infinity system. My truck has the Infinity system in it. Will they interchange. I am leaning towards no, but since its such a good deal, I am really wondering. Thanks

I would think that it would as long as all the plugs are the same. I think the radios are all basically the same and the difference in the Infinity system and the non-Infinity system is all in the speakers. (Infinity's are amplified). At least that is how I remember it from my 98. The only thing I think that might be a problem is that the Infinity system is 6 speakers and the other is 4. The radio may not have provisions for 6 speakers. I did take the stereo out of my 98 (which was Infinity) and put it in a truck that was not Infinity and it worked.

Bought the Farm!!!

I went ahead and bought the unit today, so I will install this weekend, and post back what I find out. I sure hope that it works, it was a good enough deal. Thanks for the help.

Update

Well, I tried installing the CD Player in the truck this weekend. It wont work, there is an extra plug in on the back of the Infinity that is not there on the back of the non-infinity. I would say that this is the remote wire for the amps. I am going to bow out of trying to get this one to work. I am going to get a different one. Thanks for the advice.

It would be VERY helpful to know what the unit is that you bought. A wiring harness might very well take care of your problem.

black wire, black plug, clips onto a tab on the back of the radio? That's the amp signal ground, just attach it to the radio chassis somehow.
