I've had Infinity systems in my last two Chrysler cars & was pretty happy with their sound... I think they were different as they had separate amps on each speaker.

But this stereo on my new truck (RBQ & Infinity) dosen't impress me much...

But then maybe I'm just too excited about my new ride to care much about how the stereo sounds!!!:D

I am happy with the sound, but it gets hot enough that I am worried about the CDs.

I can't figure out whether it is the electronics or the heater.

Anyone else have a heat problem?

CD's got hot in my factory head (non infinity) unit as well. I thought maybe the light over the CD port was always on and making it hot but I never really bothered to check.

An after market head and some new speakers make it sound like your at a concert!

I am more then pleased with my system (RAZ head unit) has enough thump for me where I'm not worried about touching it!

don't. These radios are validated for high-temperature operation, and they don't go into production if they damage CDs. BTW, most of the heat comes from the power amp, then the power supply, and finally the DSP and main micro.

CDs and tapes are almost too hot to touch. One started skipping and finally stopped playing. The whole outside of the radio is very warm as is the clear plastic in front of the gauges. Seems odd and outside of normal.
