2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Infity Speakers

ok im not familar with infinity other than what ihave heard. but within the past 2 weeks, the door speakers have gone out. about a week apart from each other, it is strange, they pop on every once in a while when i shut the door or hit a big bump or something but other than that they are just out. i dont know what it is, but i guess i will just replace them with some mbquarts, has anyone else had issues with this system. ?

Do the rear speakers work?

Try this, with the radio turned on, open and shut the truck door hard. If both of the front speakers start to work, it is not a speaker problem. If only the one in the door you opened works, it could be bad connections. If both speakers start working it is probably a radio issue. I have a smililar problem in my motrohome with the radio. Suspect the audio output module assembly in the radio. Have not pulled the radio out, just slam the door when I want to listen.

i think the coils are gone in the speakers, when they do come on (for that 1 second) the sound is garbled.

Unfortunatley, with the Infinity sound system, Chrysler attaches the AMPs to the front speakers, one each side. So if your speakers have gone bad you will have to rplace with factory speakers, unless you want to splice a bunch of wires, to make after market speakers work.



I did this, replaced my door speakers with Alpines. Crutchfield was very helpfull with technical support on which wires to splice where.



In my case, it was worth the hassle! Oo.

ive ordered, a set of mbquarts, and im going to add an amp and a head unit, till then i will deal with just the rear speakers. i hate factory speakers.

No need to buy expensive speakers for the truck. Dealer wanted $135 + $60 labor for a factory replacement in the front left door. I went to Circuit City and bought Infinity 3-ways (2) and they replaced both fronts for $89. 95 Plus labor. Now they handle all the bass the rig can muster and the highs are higher and cleaner. Rewiring? They didn't seen to have a problem with the install- took 45 minutes for both.
