Info on Autometer pillar mounts

Sent a message about the availability of pillar mounts for the 3G Ram to Autometer today and received the following response...



"Thank you for your interest in Auto Meter Products. We make a few different pods for the 03 Ram. They are 15013 (single steering column), 15014 (dual steering column), & 15212 (single pod). I do believe that the 03 Ram's have a grab handle & that is considered a safety item & can not be removed.



These products can be purchased through your local speed shop or favorite mail order company. "



Looks like they will not be making 2 or 3 gauge pillar mounts.

Propods makes a 3 guage pillar mount. Go to diesel dynamics web site and give them a call. They were having a problem with the earlier ones with the fit, hope they have that cured .

Yes, I had heard of the fit problems and was hoping AM had one available. I had one on my '01. 5, and it was a good one.

We have the pillar mounts available in 2 and 3 gauges and paint them to match the factory color. These pods are intended to replace the factory pillar, but we have found they look much better if used as a cover which does require cutting off the handle to properly fit the pod over the pillar. The white faced Di-Pricol gauges are a close match for the factory gauges and are even available with fuel pressure. All our gauges include wiring, sendors and instructions with photos for the install.

I got the pillar and DiPricol gauges from Diesel Power Products, and am very impressed with how complete the kit is--all the necessary little pieces that usually generate multiple parts runs were included.



I mounted the A-pillar as a replacement. I just ran a strip of 1" black electrical tape up the inside edge of the windshield, right next to the factory blackout, and it blocks the outside view into the pillar, and isn't noticeable as different from the factory blackout.
