Need two battry hold down rods that screw down the holding cross member on top on battry it has fine thred looks metric is this a Dodge only item . Ron in Louisville P. S the two inside near fender coroded out in the middle looked like needle point punches and was hard to remove .

I like the factory battery hold downs too v/s aftermarket but they are expensive at $17 each, so is the crossover hold down.

I like to keep my machine as origional as possible. the engineers built a quality machine in most areas. If I can't improve it-keep it origional

I made up new bolts using 5/16 all thread and new 5/16 U-nuts. I then put a nut on top of the all thread and jammed the threads top & bottom of the nut so it won't turn. Strong, cheap, easy and readily replaceable if the bolts acid etch out again.

with proper care the oem bolts last a lifetime. My 94 had the origionals till I went with group 65 batts so I have standardized batts in 3 vehicles 2 -3 years ago

I picked up 4 bolts and 2 holdowns for the '97 last year from a junkyard as the gassers have the same thing. I think I paid around $10. 00 for the whole kaboodle.

The only thing that I bought new was the metric u-nuts for the trays. Found those at NAPA.

Clean them up once in a while and use Never Seez, they will last a long time.

Mike.
