I have a friend who has located a 2013 3500 4wd and is debating purchasing. It is supposed to have around 60,000 miles and was maybe used for transporting. I looked at it in the dark tonight and was trying to remember a few specs. He is going to get me the vin tomorrow. It is a drw with the finned differential cover on the rear. So would that mean max tow package which would be 385hp motor, aisin, and 4:10 axle ratio? If so on the 4:10 gears, what kind of rpm do you guys see at highway speed? He was worried about high rpm at highway speed but I didn't think it would be an issue. I also didn't see the frame rail mounted fuel filter looking underneath. There were no trim package badges on the truck either so not sure what interior options it has.

It could be a 3.73. I would be scared of that many miles In that short of a time the 2013 didn't really show up in any real numbers till May to put 60k on in that time I would guess the only time it got shut off was to change the oil. The fuel filter is in front of the rear axle and tucked up pretty high. You have to be to looking for it to see it.

The max tow does not mean 4:10 gears any more, it also does not automatically mean the 385 hp engine with the Aisin transmission. It could have the 370hp and the 68RFE trans. I would Google the vin when you get it. You should be able to find the "window sticker" on line. You can also look up the service history if you enter the vin here https://www.moparownerconnect.com/oc/US/en-us/sub/Pages/OwnersLogin.aspx . I would not be worried about the miles as long as the maintenance is up to date.

Thanks for the info. Not sure if it is going to work out as he is trying to sell his old truck first. What kind of rpms do you turn at highway speed with the 4:10 gears?
