In our playgrounds,(SO CAL) if you have 2tons on the front end and want to keep up. You NEED a premium suspension. In our club (SoCalRR) we have bent 4 AAM 9. 25 front ends in the last year or so. 2 of us are trussed up now,and many more afraid to play till they are trussed up.

I have stepped up to a 3" king shocked system from Carli Suspension (from a competiters 2. 5 race system)and have proven it's worth many times. With out fail every one who has ridden with me in my truck has been shocked what this truck can do now. I have a friend that rode with me through the whooped out sand Drags at Glamis on a Sat night,he is in his 70's. When he got back he went and visited with Sage Carli at his shop in Orange and wouldnt leave till he had his own 3" kings. I beleive he has the first 2nd gen with 3" shocks Oo. If you are happy with a generic mass marketers less expensive kit great but I guaranty you my tail lights will be far ahead of you in short order :-laf :-laf

When you only have 2 inches of travel before it hits the bumpstops it tortures the axle housing cause your constantly baggin it, just going over small bumps at medium speed would hammer my trucks front end and this is with the upgraded bilstien shocks that came with the so called 4 inch lift kit, that limits your travel with huge poly bumpstops. They do that for a reason which I am sure someone with more knowledge can explain.

Jake

Jake you left out all the gory details ;) The bump stop was torn apart. The spring had bowed so much that it had contacted the frame. That was a very fun trip despite some serious carnage. We do use our trucks and learn new limits each time out.

RockKrawler sucked *** back a few years ago. Their kits were poorly made and literally fell apart on the trails.

They have since come under new management and the kits are supposed to be better, but I haven't see one in person.

I do run Rock Krawler 7" coils on my Grand Cherokee. They are ok, but they are sagging pretty bad after 2 years of use.
