added a timer to mine triggered off the remote starter, works like a dream.

i hit the remote , trucks starts & runs 2 minutes, then idles up...

What about 3rd gen 6 speed owners... The machanic that looked at my truck for other reasons ealier this week was unable to find the spot in the computer to enable the high idle.

ideas?

Just want to make sure as I have been considering a remote start and high idler as well. Do you use the Practical Solutions unit? And, what remote starter are you using?

yes its the practical solutions model. as far as remote starters are concerned , it doesnt really matter, i use the park brake light as my trigger circuit for the delay

but just fyi its made by compu star, 2-way, LCD display, and something crazy like 2 mile range. shows me when the truck actually starts, if i left the lights on, door opens, alarm goes off etc. compatible with the factory alarm and waits for the grid heater cycle before starting.
