Took my truck to the ******* today to get my LP looked at as I mentioned in a previous post. So I unhooked my EZ and replaced the plug to the data link. Well got the LP and drove the truck edgless for awhile to see how much I missed the EZ. When I went to put the EZ back on and tried to remove the data link plug the durn thing would not budge. I have now managed to jerk and pull using everything in my tool box to remove the plug and cannot succeed. tried to rmove the wires from the the whole plug assembly to get it out where I could work and can't get that done either. What do I do? Anyone have a little trick they would like to share to get this thing out? I have managed to pull about 1" of wires out of the bundle when my vice grips slipped and am kind of worried about that as well. Know I have a $500 box I cant get hooked up.

I would guess that you know too lift the clip to disengage the lock? theres a little clip that needs to be lifted

just trying to help

On the '99 it's a push to release the data link, and the MAP plug is a pull. If it's the data link dust cover that won't release, I would get a Dremel with a cutoff wheel and carefully cut into the dust cover to get it off. Then get a new dust cover.

Good luck.

No dust cover. Its the 3 prong flat connecter coming out of the bundle by the block. I think that on the 99' its by the power steering pump
