Howdy all,

I picked up my new DOR bumper this afternoon. Went to the freight dock at lunch. That shipping crate was HUGE!!!!!! :--) Layne sure does a great job packaging his bumpers. The crate is 4' x 4' x 8' long. Here are some pictures of it still bolted down to the floor of the crate.

It is truly awesome :D

I plan to get it installed this weekend, will post more pix as the project is underway, and the final fit.

Looks like you have some work ahead of you. Hope you have a couple friends handy, it looks heavy. ;)

I hope get some pics on the truck. Looks cool

I would love to have one of these bumpers, doesn't it stick out from the front of the truck further than the stock bumper? I only have 1 inch clearance front to rear when I pull my truck in the garage. I'm afraid that the addition of any after market bumper would stop me from being able to park my truck in the garage?? Anyone know if this or any other after market bumper is the same as the OEM from a dimensions standpoint?

The entire bumper is supposed to weigh ~138 pounds, but I was easily able to pick up the beast and move it around all by myself, and I ain't Mr. Universe!

I will be installing it this weekend, and will take plenty of before, during and after pictures. I will also measure the extra amount it sticks out compared to stock, but Pit Bull, I am quite sure it is going to be at least a few inches, if not several. It is afterall a winch bumper... . but I will measure it and take pictures that show the difference between it and the OEM bumper.

I ordered it just after Thanksgiving 2002, Layne said he was just finishing up a group of Ford bumpers at that time. His initial estimate was 2 1/2 months, so he ended up pretty close. He shipped it last week from Colorado to Sacramento, CA.

Now for a good set of driving & fog lights :D

You'll like your bumper. A couple of points.

Make sure you have room to get your turn signal screws out between the bumper and the light to change bulbs.

Trim the inner fenders right away. I originally didn't trim them right away and the wind caught them, pulled them out of the bumper even though they snapped in tight. Caught on the wheel and could have destroyed them if I didn't catch it quickly. Ok, so I was going a little over the limit...

I went out and measured mine -- from the bottom of the grill forward to the front of the brushguard is 11 inches.

Here are the final pictures

It took me about 3 hours total to get the old bumper off and the new one on, as I was figuring it all out as I went. I was able to man handle the DOR bumper all by myself, it really isn't that heavy. And once you bolt the mounting brackets on, the bumper will sit on them without falling off while you crawl underneath to get the bolts in the holes.

Here is is sitting on the ground in front of the truck.

Here is a side view of the mounting brackets to show how easy they are to install. 4 bolts to the frame, 3 to the bumper per bracket.

Pit Bull, 11" is the correct measurement from the OEM grill to the furthest protruding part of the brush guard on the DOR bumper.

I have a coupl emore pictures in my Readers Rigs section if you are interested.

You will love it Tom

I wish I had a picture of the packaging mine came in for comparison but lets just say laine has improved alot. Mine appeared rapped in wall to wall carpeting. :D It even had the heating vent holes on the edges. It was very well rapped and banded but used carpeting nun the less.

I have been nothing but happy with the bumper.
