Just hoping someone out there can help me?Just discovered a very strong diesel smell in the cab of the truck. Upon closer inspection I was shocked to discover that the power steering box was wet to the touch, looking closer with the engine running I saw fuel leaking from bottom of the injector pump. Time for a new injector pump?????Any comments or suggestions would be great.

There was a safety recall on 1998 Rams with Cummins engines to replace a low-pressure fuel tube between the fuel filter and injection pump. The 1998 model year trucks had a metal fuel tube that would crack and leak over time. The fix was to insert a short, 4”, rubber hose in this line to allow flex. I think the recall number was 788, but I might be wrong. If you look for a black rubber hose clamped to the metal fuel line between the filter and pump, there should be one. If you see only metal, there is a good chance it is cracked.
