My '93 D250 has 118K miles. I have owned it for only one year. I was thinking of replacing the injection pump as preventative maintenance before I get stranded. Would anyone be able to recommend a brand name to go with and possibly the model number so I order the correct one?

Thanks for any help.

With only 118,000 miles your truck is just getting broke in. Unless it was abused just drive it and enjoy. I would change oil in all gear boxes. The pump is not noted for leaving you afoot. It will someday die, but will give advanced notice.

A good practice is to simply look for fuel leaks @ the pump. New seals may be in order for trucks that have been sitting a lot. This won't usually leave you stranded, however.

Pump work

I had to rebuild my pump at 615k due to seal leaks. All wear parts inside looked good. May be because I add lube to all my fuel.
