Well that dead spot in the throttle was the injection pump after all. The dealer said it would be $3500 to replace and that warranty has been voided because I have a box. Of course I said no I don’t and they say oh yes you do, 5 star says the only way the codes pulled from your truck is caused from a box. Long story short 6-7 hours of fighting with the service manager he made a deal for me to pay for the repair if I paid the first $1000. So has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone else have their injection pump go out if they have a box? Does the edge ez put to much pressure on the inj pump? What exactly does the edge ez do to our trucks?

Sorry for the long questions Just looking for info before I put this thing back on a new Inj pump.

If you never tapped the pump wire than fight it, most likely cause was a dead or semi-dead lift pump.

you have rights use em

What codes were present in your truck. When mine went dead, I had 1693 and 0216. The dealer had no problems replacing the pump under warranty. DC asked If the wire had ben tapped and if the truck had propane. My onboard air system caused a little concern, but the dealership was great at rebutting the other guy at DC.

If you didn't have overboost codes, I would take it to another dealer.

Also, When the invoice was written up on mine, they did not write it up as warranty at first (clerical error, 50% pucker factor). teh pump was listed as $1250, and labor at $300. Sounds like this dealer is trying to bone you

The tech said I had a over boost code and 0216. This dealer will never see my truck again. He also stated that they nor 5star will warrenty any other thing on my truck now. I really don't think that box had anything to do with it...

that is b. s. They must prove that the failed part was caused by something that YOU did through improper maintenance or a modification. So, if your radio goes bad, and you are still under warranty (by mileage and years) then they cannot blame it on the EZ. I would find a new dealer.
