Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection pump gear/cam gear rattle??

Have any of you had a problem with too much backlash in between these 2 gears cause the engine to sound like there is someone shaking a maracca(sp?) in there at 1,800 -2,200 rpm? I was reading a discussion on it somewhere else,just want to know if anyone here has had this happen and what can be done to get rid of it. I love the sound of the engine but not with that... .
