Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injection pump keyway

I am a TDR member and Dodge Diesel Technician. On page 49 of issue #42 you state to make sure the number on the old keyway

must be the same as the new keyway. INCORRECT.

Old to new number doesn't matter. What DOES matter is the keyway # matches the 3 diget number on the injection pump. These numbers must match, also the arrow on the keyway points to the pump. Shouldn't he have retorqued the injection pump to gear nut before putting on the filler elbow?

I also noticed that. I've got a new one sitting around I need to get on there. Trying to get rid of an idle miss. This is the last straw for me. Are you calling the vent tube elbow the filler elbow? I've only seen fillers on 12V trucks. No biggee... just curious.

You are correct.



Filler elbows were only present on industrial ISB's.
